Just wondering if anyone has used this tretinoin cream. Oddly enough, I received a private invitation to purchase it without a prescription from an online skincare company. |

It's tretinoin in a moisturizing base, like Renova.

No, definitely not a moisturizer, llina! It is Retin A in a moisturizing base - a prescription cream! The base is just to help make the tretinoin easier for some people to handle, as older skin tends to be drier skin! |

The website that sent me the private offer is http://www.skin-one.com. I didn't realize that this was an Obagi product. They also offered me Obagi tretinoin without a prescription. |

As far as I know it is not an Obagi product, Skippie. Refissa is by Spear Pharmaceuticals. Oops, wrong here. It is an Obagi product! Sorry, Skippie. |

thanks for that clarification.
i've been trying to read up on retinol a, vitamin c, etc... i was really surprised these acutally peel the skin. i originally thought they were some sort of nurturing formula, to help heal the skin.
anyaywas, i'm still reading and reading... i think i'm just getting myself confused. |

I haven't used Obagi, llina. Right now, I'm using .025% tretinoin (generic) - if I decide to move up to .05% after my skin has adjusted, I will definitely think about getting the Refissa. That way maybe I won't have to use a moisturizer on top. |

I'm also interested in knowing if anyone has used Refissa and if they could compare it to Renova.
I checked out the web site and I can't really see any difference from this and Renova. They did a study and posted that Refissa and Renova 0.05 are bioequivalent.
I'm curious - why would someone choose this over Renova? Is it just another brand of the same thing? Maybe the base cream is different?
I use Renova and like it, but always on the look out for something better! |

I believe the Renova, 0.05 has been discontinued. Only the 0.02% Renova is available any longer. |

Yikes! I must have missed that. Thanks rileygirl for the info. I assume the generic version of Renova will still be available. I've used both Renova brand and generic and either are fine for me. |

No problem! (P.S. I think that was a few years ago that they actually discontinued the 0.05 Renova!) |

My dermatologist said it was cheaper than Renova. I am currently looking for it online.
Is Renova/Refissa at this strength okay for the neck? I have started using the Refissa sample, planning to use it only Mon/Wed/Fri to see how my skin reacts. I'd like to put it on my neck. I realize everyone is different, but perhaps if there were a pattern of "it was fine for my face but too strong for my neck" I would skip it. |
