I remember reading recommendations of it, either here or at MUA, saying it was a "high-linoleic" rather than high-oleic oil. I think I mentioned this to someone here just recently too.
There are specific benefits to the linoleic acid.
I just bought some today, and noticed that the bottle no longer makes any mention of "high linoleic" anything. I also noticed that the Hain company owns the Hollywood brand, which may be a relatively recent development.
I called the company and they informed me that the product is indeed "high oleic" now. It seems that high-linoleic safflower oil is becoming an endangered species. The Flora company also quit producing it. Hopefully DIY suppliers will continue supplying it.
An alternative is grapeseed oil.
High-oleic oil will more closely resemble olive oil, so that may be of interest to people who use that on their skin or hair... |
