I've used SkinBiology's squalane with retinol for two years and really like it. However, I won $50 from EDS and was thinking of switching to SkinBiology's emu oil just to try it out. Has anyone made the switch? I am worried that it might be too oily or heavy under makeup. I have combo skin and use minerals. I like to use squalane around my eyes and so far it is the only moisturized that doesn't give me milia. Is emu oil similar to squalane in texture and absorbency? |

I haven't used SB's oils, but in general, I far prefer squalane to emu. Emu oil is much heavier and as much as I wanted to fall in love with it, I was unable to. The squalane is just so smooth and light and luxurious on my skin - and it glows after I put it on. Emu oil...not so much, unfortunately. Couldn't wear my MMU over it, whiteheads started popping up, and despite the very tiny amount applied, it didn't sink in well and left my skin feeling tacky. I hate feeling tacky. LOL
Many people love it though...you never know! |

I have SkinBio's squalane(without retinol)and emu oil. Like Silver says the emu is much heavier and I only use it at night for this reason. It does have the extra goodies in it though.
The squalane is better for day wear under make-up, absorbs into skin better and I find it more moisturizing(maybe because it sinks in more). |

I guess I'll stick with squalane for a while then until it's time to order something else from SkinBiology and then request it as a sample. |
