This is total for the day, morning and evening and other times. Now that I have a routine I am shocked how much time it all takes up! Between cleansing, and serums that's quick yet the LED, facial exercise, massage, skin brushing etc! Then add in time spent on hair care and styling, makeup, working out etc and it all adds up!

I agree with you one hundred percent on that, when you have a et routine rather than doing things here and there it's much more easier for you to work out how long it takes. I ticked 2-3 hours (possibly even more) and noticed no one else has ticked it yet. This includes an hour in the morning when doing makeup and hair, an hour and a half at night when doing skincare, and half an hour for devices... Yeek! Confused

It is impossible to look your best half an hour in the morning and the same at night.

There is washing your body, body lotions, creams, serums and using my Clarisonic body brush. Same for the face and styling my hair, flossing and brushing your teeth. I don't skip any process to be my best. It really shows how much you love yourself and how well you can do when helping/giving to others.

When I read the poll I wasn't sure if it was intended to mean facial appearance or overall. If you are a gym going person that can add many extra hours per week onto the time since that is definitely time spent working on one's appearance.

Those who checked 30 minutes aren't likely including shower, blow drying hair, exercise etc. They may be thinking of skincare and makeup only.

If we are only talking about skincare, including facial exercises, then it's about half hour daily. Then add 30 min. to that 3x a week for my led routine.

If it's about a full beauty routine then it would easily be about 2 to 3 hrs. daily. I exercse for 1 hr. I do my slantboard for 10 min., bodybrush, and no lipo routine. Those extras can easily add 45 min.

The closer you get to age 50 and over, the more you have to do to maintain and look good. We are like classic cars. Beautiful to look at, but it takes time and money to keep that motor running. Lol! Also, I don't watch much tv, I don't scrapbook, sew, etc. Researching and applying beauty and exercise routines are my hobby.

LOL That is so true. My mother-in-law spend her time caring for herself and going to the salon. She looks good for her age, but if you saw other women her age or younger, they are not comparable! But not all women are like that.

Very Happy I don't think I have any secrets, but I think if you practice what really, really works for you and do this daily as part of normal life, I think that can make things easier. I can't say if it make things go faster, but I guess it has to do with prioritising and what is important to you. Don't get me wrong, living life and giving to others is more important, but to get there, you have to love yourself so that you can care and give to others better.

10-15 minutes max. Used to be much more when I used to observe long wait and dry times between ascorbic acid serums and such, but after a few visits to derms I'm convinced those are unnecessary. That comes from multiples lectures on skin pH and how it doesn't jump up and down much, not in a 20 minute time frame anyway. I actually saw an improvement in moisture retention after I eliminated the wait times. Cool

I definitely agree...

To me self appearance is very important, I like to look good and the compliments that come with it definitely work to validate the time spent on beauty, however it creates an image that needs to be upheld and constantly maintained. Which yes sometimes can be exhausting but after doing it for many years it sort of turns into a habit constantly checking the hair, makeup, and body. I'm currently twenty five but am really trying to cut down on this amount of time because it tends to get in the way of other activities.

Yeah I wasn't sure myself. I was curious at first what it takes just for the skin, then I got to thinking how many things there are to take care of for appearance maintance and the improvement. When you start adding it all up, it's not that these things are not worth it, it's just that I wonder how others fit it all in with all the other activities, work, social lives, education, and responsibilities. Just got me thinking how much of each day is just spent on repeating the same maintance and upkeep etc.

I had always neglected my skin and hair and apperance. I was super lazy and with my ADD just didn't have the patience to ever spend more than 10 min. after a shower on hair/makeup etc. I'd get bored and want to leave to find something more mentally stimulating. I was also pretty sedentary for 10yrs and never worked out. I still have issues with not wanting to spend time fixing my hair and use the least amount of makeup that I can get away with. Yet now I'm on this anti-aging mission to repair my damage and just improve my appearance as much as possible!

I workout 5-6 days a week now for 1+ hours plus driving time to the gym. Adding topicals to my skin is not a problem and takes next to no time. It is the mechanical things that start adding up like skin brushing, nail care, oral care, hair care, peels, scrubs, dermaroller, massage, and daily facial exercise and LED can add another hour. Getting a routine and schedule that is just organized and automatic really is key to my overwhelm. I think it'll get easier the more organized I get. I was overwhelmed because I was diving into it and constantly researching and just adding more and more stuff. The research and shopping takes more time than doing it! Wink

Morning - shave, shower (cleanse + wash hair), serum, moisturise body, sunscreen, hair styling... About 20 minutes.

Night - shower (cleanse + wash hair), serum, moisturise body, Retin-A... About 10 minutes.

On a day when I'm styling my eyebrows, add another 5 minutes. If I'm trimming body hair(about twice monthly) add another 15 minutes.

I think we all have our days when we can get it all in and other days you just cant.
But I don't know about you guys..but I prioritize. Make sure I get my serums on my face and sunscreen. If I have time -- I clarsonic, dry brush my body, LED my face neck and hands, and put masques on my face.
I also spend a good amount of time taking my supplements everyday too! can't forget those suckers. I always have a baggie of extras in my purse in case I can't get them in in the morning on the way out the door.
All this leads me to lately thinking i want a facemaster. But I really don't know if I'd have the time to use it.

I don't like to use a hair dryer most of the time and wear my hair up or in a twist or ponytail.
here in the summer it is so humid, no ammount of expensive hair product or skill will leave my hair straight.

So usually just put mousse, gel, hair serum and have my hair up or maybe down and wavy.
