You can add many things to yogurt to make mask. I like it with Mathca green tea. Add 1/4 tsp of Matcha green tea powder to 1 TBS of yogurt, mix and leave for at least 30 minutes and wash off. Also, you can add yeast to yogurt, it tightens the pores. Try these, you'll like them.

I add brewer's yeast (did my daughter's acne skin very much good) or honey or oatmeal, or a combination of the lot. Leaves the skin very smooth and hydrated, I love yoghurt!

DIY Girl posted this in DIY thread

Green Tea / Aspirin Mask
1 tsp. whole milk yogurt
5-7 uncoated aspirin
1/2 - 1 tsp. white sugar
1 capsule of green tea extract ($3-$4 for 60 at Walmart)
2-3 drops of honey

My skin is sensitive, so I drop the aspirin(AHA)down to 3 and sugar(glycolic acid) down to 1/4 tsp. Honey is the moisturizer so adapt to your skin type. Rinse off when dry. I use a washcloth to add in some manual exfoliation.

How old is your daughter. My daughter is 13 years old. Can she use this?

At 13 yes, why not? Just don't leave it on for too long, 15 minutes is enough, and rinse it off with water, no soapy stuff. If your daughter's skin is a bit sensitive add honey to the yoghurt as well, that is very soothing. Brewer's yeast is used in many acne formulae, but it's good for many other skin problems too (loaded with b-vitamins).

I was watching the health show, and a woman with the most beautiful skin, and at age 60 said she uses a yoghurt mask

But she adds lemon juice, and sunflower oil to the yoghurt face mask.

Looking at her line free, flawless skin definitely going to try it.

I like using the yogurt mask a lot although I find that the effects don't last more than a day or so. I use it either by itself or as part of the aspirin mask. I have oily/combo skin and could probably use it every day. It leaves my skin really soft and smooth but also hydrated in a way...almost plump.

A word about the yogurt...I think it's best to find the most natural/organic yogurt for the best results. My mother, bless her, always makes yogurt from scratch for the family so I only use that. It's surprisingly simple to make provided that you have a live culture to start with. If you are buying from the store, full fat, plain yogurt is best! You want to stay away from fruity concoctions that add sugars and preservatives.

I think the yougurt mask is ok. It feels good and clears the skin. But like the OP said, the effects dont seem to last long.
