I have tried IS Clinical, Cellex C, yet none of them seem to really be THE BEST for my skin! If anyone of you has had extremely good results with a Vitamin C serum please let me know! THanks! |

I've tried many including skin medica, cellex c,c e ferulic, Jan Marini C-esta, Obagi....and more I can't remember!!
Hands down, the winner is my current...Collametics. I've been using it for about 4 months and seen improvements in pigmentation, texture, radiance, and I think some collagen plumping.
The only negative thing I can say about it is that it leaves a slight orange tinge on my skin, but it is invisible after foundation. Good luck with your search! |

Do you have the ingredient list for the product and a link? |

I bought mine fromwww.truthinaging.com website. The name of the product is collametics collagen building factor. It normally sells for $100 for a 1-oz. bottle, but I saw that it is on sale for $85.
Here is the ingredient list: Water, propanediol, L-ascorbic, L-glycine, L-proline, L-Lysine, glucosyl hesperidin, zinc gluconate, copper gluconate, silica.
Read Marta's full review for the specifics on the ingredients and how they work together. My skin loves this stuff! |

Riley, you may remember Collametics. It is the company owned by Kevin Meehan, who worked with Dr. Ben Johnson to develop Osmosis Catalyst. |

Thanks for the recommendation on the Collametics Vitamin C Serum, the ingredients also look clean enough for me to use! I wonder if the product is sold in Canada? If not thanks for the website that has the better price of $85! I am excited to try it out! |

Thanks for sharing your "winner", loribar.
It's interesting that Marta from TIA found Catalyst wasn't for her but included Collametics Collagen Building Factor as one of the "Five Best Vitamin C Serums 2011". I had assumed the two were very similar if not the same but now I am wondering if that is the case. Has anyone tried both products? |

Hey Feliz...just curious if you tried the Collametics, and if so, what was the verdict??
I'm still having great results and about to reorder, but ALWAYS open to something later and greater |

I am also on the lookout for a new Vit C. I have used a few, CellurskinRx, which I loved, Alpha H, which was my favourite, and now I am trying a Skincueticals knock off of CE & feurlic, to be honest I am not liking it very much! It just won't spread at all? The minute it hits my skin its gone, so I have to use quite a bit each time. Plus I find it incrediblely drying, my face feels so tight afterwards but not a good tight.
I might try SkinMedica when I finish this. |

Quite a few members ask these very same questions... I think people might be a little confused about what "C" serums do, and are checking their mirror daily, and waiting for a miracle to happen... Considering you are only 27 I could almost promise you, you won't appreciate what C serum is doing for you any time soon..You'll thank yourself many years from now when you have a look at your peers and think; *damn*, woo hoo for sticking with my nice little antioxidant serum.. lol.
Since I'm an avid and happy user of (DIY) C serum, I'm happy to offer my thoughts...(for the gazillionth time.. )
- A well formulated "C" serum (whether retail or DIY) is a "treatment" and not supposed to be luxurious. Look for a thin water based product which should penetrate rather quickly, and then do the real work at the cellular level. (The cells you are targeting here do best when both the 'lipid' & 'water' portions are fed, so it's important to have a bit of a good vitamin E containing oil in there.) Personally I don't like pure vitamin E oil, and prefer to use wheat germ, palm or any other 'E' containing oil. I also like a few drops of jojoba oil (wax ester), which is a great and natural penetration enhancer!
- A good C serum will combine at least 2, but preferably 3 antioxidants to really do it's main job which is scavenging (and neutralizing) free radicals. The AO's I believe in most, which have plenty of studies to back them up are; A,C,E, & FA. Antioxidants work in teams, and have the power to revive each other, which keeps them protecting your skin throughout the day. Once an antioxidant neutralizes a free radical it would be rendered useless unless there is another available to revive it. Free radicals are the daily onslaught we deal with, which causes aging to our skin externally, and attacks our body/organs internally. Antioxidants *help* to neutralize some of these free radicals which in turn slows down the aging process.. (If we're lucky enough to keep on living of course we will still be aging, but the ravages of time will be at a slower crawl.) Bottom line is this in regard to "C" serum; a good one will show you it's working when as time goes by, your skin starts to look and feel healthier..
- As far as the "results" one can expect from a well formulated antioxidant serum used regularly, and for the long haul I'd say; It's a subtle and gradual skin improvement that finds you with thicker, better textured, and just a prettier and healthier looking skin.. If you exfoliate well (according to your age and skin sensitivity) you can also expect to get a very lovely glow, that is quite akin to a child's skin in my experience.
- As far as the "collagen synthesis" goes, I suppose at 62 I could be too late to that party to really benefit, but on the other hand I do find my skin plumper than it was when I started this about 4 years ago. Wish I would have gave a crap about all this when I was 40..
Sorry to get so carried away... I could talk about the wonders of antioxidants all day..LOL.
BIG hugs to all
ETA: If I found myself wanting to purchase retail I would buy this, and just follow the application with a few drops of an "E" containing oil;
