Acne scars on thighs. TCA peel OR what?!?!?!

I have some acne scars on my thighs, its very strange but my thighs would actually get pimples... ever happen to any of you?

I want to try a peel on them. I know everyone talk about peels on there face but I need help with peels on the body. Skin s not as sensitive, what level should I do and what brand of peel or type? Thanks everyone!

This can happen from in grown hairs. Personally I would try an AHA body lotion before peels.

I dont think its from ingrowns.. I dont shave or wax my thighs? Its very strange and annoying.
Im trying an aha lotion and spot lightening treatment so hope this works.

Have you ever tried a peel?

You can still get ingrown hairs if you don't depilate, as hair in the groin area may be curly. There are also plenty of sebaceous glands, friction as we move plus comedogenic ingredients in bodycare products, so cysts/ boils are not uncommon.

Not sure which AHA is in your lotion but lactic acid is commonly used on the body. If so you might consider sticking with this for any stronger exfoliating. It might be worth posting your skin tone/ ethnicity because some skin types are more likely to scar/ less suitable for peeling. Which area of your thigh should also be considered, as skin on the inner thigh tends to be more sensitive than, say, the front of the thigh.

I think M2 body refinish lotion is kind of like a peel.
It is 15% acids.

I use it mostly on my elbows and heels but have used it on my legs before and it makes the skin smoother.

EDS sells it.

The aha lotion I'm using has natural alpha hydroxy acids in it, lemon, apple and sugar cane.
The scaring is more on the front and inside of my thighs. Little red marks, lots of them!

The skin on my body is normal to dry. I'm caucasian, my skin colour is light, olive colour. I exfoliate my legs about every other day, I use glysomed for a lotion everyday after I have a bath. It has vitamin e and aloe vera in it.

I just started using an tretinion cream on my legs, good idea or bad?

You may be over-exfoliating - this can irritate skin, worsen dryness or infections - or you may have a hidden sensitivity to a product you use on your body or clothing. Bathing can be drying, consider a bath milk not a foaming product and be careful what else you sit in (shampoo/ shaving cream etc). Cleansers containing sulphate surfactants or alkaline soaps are very drying; watch out for body lotions or conditioners containing silicones or fatty alcohols as some people find these block pores. Aloe vera is great as is unrefined shea butter (both have healing properties) olive squalane or lanolin (similar to natural oils so absorb easily but non comedogenic).

I would suggest a body lotion containing urea or lactic acid as both are naturally found in the skin and hydrate whilst exfoliating. If you get on with this you can purchase urea to make a stronger product, or lactic acid for a peel. If you would like to use tretinoin I would wait until any dryness and irritation are completely under control as some find tretinoin drying and irritating! Crying or Very sad

I have a few questions.. I was wondering about purchasing lactic acid. Would I just mix it with some lotion or oil for my thighs? Confused

I've been reading the DIY forum but oh my.. I don't even know where to start. I know what results I'd like to achieve tho!

Another question.. Niacinamide, is this an lightening agent? How would I be able to incorporate this into making my thighs more even toned.

You can purchase 12% lactic acid body lotion so this ballpark would be a sensible to start off with. LA is water based so wouldn't readily mix with oils. You *may* be able to add to your existing lotion or you may want to purchase a cheap neutral base. You should find this thread helpful
