Has anyone ever tried the PMD personal micrderm tool? Does it compare to Retin A at all? |

I haven't used Retin-a but I recently got a Personal Microderm. I have used it 3 times. A week apart each time. After just the first use it significantly reduced my enlarged pores. My husband was so impressed he has started using it himself! |

Well the first time I used the small blue disc and I didn't see too much happening. Soooo the second time I used the large blue disc. I over did a little and my face was red for three days but, I did notice great results with my pores getting smaller. The third and fourth time I used it, I did use the large blue disc and went over each area of my skin six times. That seems to be a good amount for me. I get good exfoliation but without the redness. I don't think I have a tough hide, I seem to have fairly sensitive skin these days. I definitely recommend starting out slow and working up to what seems the right amount for you. |

Sorry for the delayed reply. We have been over the hill and thru the vale on the way to grandmothers house for Christmas:)
My face was incredibly dry before I started using the PMD. I was actually putting straight shea butter on my face three times a day and it soaked it right up. That is part of the reason I started using the PMD, I thought it might help get rid of the dry skin. Whether due to the PMD or not my skin isn't so dry now but I did start using a cream. The last two weeks I have used the Revive Sensitif cream and I have to say I really like it...granted it has only been two weeks but my face is not red after using the PMD. Though that is probably a combination of using the PMD less intensely and the EGF. Emu oil also seems very soothing right after the exfoliation....and I tried all the various oil I had: rosehip, seabuckthorn, argan, jojoba, and squalane. And to help with any dryness I started using Honey Girl Organics Mom and Baby Butter....which I'm sure wasn't made to put on faces but has pretty much the same ingredients as the Honey Girl Organics Face cream and it's cheaper:)
Well I know that is more info that what you asked for but I hope it is helpful. I am very excited for you and hope you find a PMD under your tree! |

Hi Frognkisses, Hope you had a good christmas!
I sure did, I got a pmd! yay!!!! I used it for the first time on tuesday and oh my, I was so nervous BUT it wasn't nearly as terrifying as I heard it might be.
I don't think I used it correctly... I couldn't get any suction on my forhead and I used the small head too.
Did you have any problems the first time you used yours? I'm guessing it takes practise with holding it and how much pressure to appply.
Do you still use the head for sensitive skin?
I appreciate your time with all my questions! |

Hello frognkisses,
I just ordered a PMD. I would like to ask how long do the disc last? Thanks! |

Hi Beck13! I'm so excited for you:) As for suction on the forehead, you're right, it does take a few tries to get it. I usually do end up switching to the small to finish my forehead and the sides of my nose. Though for the life of me I can not get suction on the top of my nose:(
I have been using the sensitive head. I wanted to try the red head last week but missed doing it last week due to being away from home. I think I will be brave and try the red tomorrow night.
Hello Sleepworking! I'd say they do last about three times. I have to admit I did wonder how I would know when I couldn't use them any more but the top of head starts out white with the abrasive on it and as you use it it rubs off. |
