I didn't know if any of you saw Suzanne Sommers on Dr. Oz yesterday. I really like her and appreciate how she shares cutting edge health and beauty advise.

But...gosh..her face is loaded with fillers. She looked odd to me. Hardly an endorsement for the facemaster.
Makes me wonder if most dyi gadgets are less than effective and the promoters have face lifts and fillers and are untruthful about the results.

I think it's probably a case of she has money to burn and wants to see immediate results. Her lip injections are too much but other than that, she looks great.

I think it's a disgrace (not to mention so bloody obvious), when Suzanne tries to give credit to her 'face master' for her ridiculously plumped up skin... The really sad thing is that her face isn't at all attractive (IMHO).. She was adorable and attractive 20 years ago when she had normal cheeks and lips..

Carole Maggio also comes to mind as someone who is clearly filled beyond recognition, and consistently tells folks it's all from her facial exercise program.. Oh really? Laughing Laughing Laughing Tell me this then; how is it possible to have huge cheeks and lips at 60, when you didn't have it at 30 in your heyday..Rolling Eyes

They're all full of it (and fillers) IMHO ... Very Happy

ETA: You can't get blood from a stone, and you can't make a mountain out of a mole hill..

I have to say, I agree with both of you. I think she has the money to get immediate results..and some of us would do the same. I have not checked out Carol..(gotta do that).. But, we are not out there selling a beauty gadget and acting like that is why we look the way we do. That is why I like before and after photos of regular people.

In fact, not having money to jump the gun is really a blessing..because so many of these wealthy woman look funny not pretty. The first time I watched The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills..they all looked so weird! I even noticed Simon Cowell on the Barbara Walters Special the other night has too much filler in his cheeks. He looked like a squirrel hiding nuts in his cheeks. Suzanne just looked puffed up and didn't even look like her pretty self.

oh yeah..I'll add that in absolute contrast..did you all see Jane Fonda on her video tour last week? Now..she looks amazing and admits to having a face lift. But, it is well done..she looks lovely..and she fessed up and was truthful about it.

Yeah, that's the thing. I think Hollywood is its own microcosm, and what's normal there is considered off-the-wall everywhere else. Getting some work done to look like you're aging gracefully is one thing, but the whole youthful full cheeks and cartoonishly plump lips just looks weird on a 60-year-old. I guess it's a slippery slope.

I wish they would be honest! I have met Carol in person in 2007. She is gracious and looks great. She truly believes in her work.

However, there is no way of knowing if she has had ANY sort of filler etc.

The only person I have met who looks great is Tonya Zavasta from Beautiful on Raw. I met her at a lecture. She is lovely!

I wish there was some way that we could have a private place to share pictures and routines. There has to be a lot of marketing on our forums like product placement.

I loved EDS! There is so much talent and knowledge on this thread. I have learned a lot here. I have posted a link to my pictures and success with Divine Derierre bleaching creme. I wish I could see what other ladies REALLY looked like and if their anti aging advice has helped them.

I believe Suzanne had stem cell treatments done to her face, in addition to her breasts. She also seems to be about twenty pounds overweight so it could just be fat. I think she looks pretty good, actually. I admire her willingness to be a guinea pig for new treatments.

As for filler, the fault lies not in the filler but in the injector.

Totally agree. However, I think it's fraudulent to make money from promoting a "natural" approach to aging (such as facial exercises and devices) and then have invasive procedures done.

Exactly!

I would have great respect if any one of them said something like; "yep my such and such works great and gives me a great foundation, but yep I also have tweaked with a filler or whatever"..

They never do though.. Instead with each decade that goes by, their face's foundation gets firmer and firmer, their cheeks get fuller and higher, their lips get fuller with even the edges turned up, their eyes look better at 60 than they did at 40, and yet people are falling for their claim that facial exercises did it all..

I find those lies quite insulting to my intelligence, but if people believe it, they happily laugh all the way to the bank (and surgeons office).

Anyway Keliu, you and I know for sure that the jowls and cheeks of 61 year olds are not going to look 30 or 40 again without some seriously invasive measures..

For me I'm happy to just have slowed down the aging process.. I happen to like my expressive face, and my skin is in the best shape of it's life... A little sag is not bothering me at all... And when it does, I'll just stand on my head and look 30 again for a few minutes...Laughing

Amen to this...I don't think there is anything wrong with getting filler. Heck sometimes it takes doing many things to fight aging, and the combination can bring great results. ..but at least be honest when you make a living at selling beauty products and use yourself as the spokes person.

Suzanne Sommers has done a lot for advocacy of cancer treatment and raising awareness of Bio-identical hormone therapy. That said - she is an actress and in the epi-center of all those many things intended to decrease the appearance of aging. I'd say she's done more than a few things.

I am not convinced Carole Maggio has fillers. Maybe she does but maybe she doesn't. This is a woman who eats Clean - no alcohol, no ciggies, healthy green diet, enough sleep, exercises regularly, devoted to facial exercises, facial massage, excellent skin care. I know she's ramped up her facial exercise routine in the last few years above and beyond what it had been.
