I am so impressed with everyone's research and input on this board, It is truly amazing the knowledge you have!!! I have learned a lot! I have been using hyaluronic acid pills for a while now and LOVE the results! I have used MANY brands and only get fairly dramatic results with Source Naturals Skin Eternal (brown label) hyaluronic acid. I don't get the same results from their regular HA pills or really anyone else. I even have looked and made sure any brand I try have the collagen-type picture with the capsule on it (I know I am off on this detail, can't remember exactly what it said, but I look for this marking as recommended on this board) I cannot find a brand that works as well and the Skin Eternal Source Naturals is harder and harder to find unless you hunt online. Wondered if anyone had any brand recommendations. Input is MUCH appreciated. Thanks in advance! |

VitaCost brand sells an HA/Collagen supplement. I dont know how it comes to what you are already using though. |

Have you tried the lips thread over on the DIY board? http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=3625
You need a product containing low molecular weight hyaluronic acid and AFAIK there are very few of these. My last batch of Source Naturals was purchased on eBay because it is easier and cheaper to import than purchase locally! |

If that's the only brand that's worked well for you so far, why switch? Both iherb and vitacost carry the Source Naturals brand. Both have some discount for first order. Shipping is also very reasonable, even if you are international. |

The brand I use for hyaluronic acid capsules and serum is NeoCell. You want this brand because its pure, natural hyaluronic acid. That means its better absorbed and more effective.
The kinds to avoid say "sodium hyaluronate" (that's made in a lab and fake) and the kind mixed with chicken sternum. The chicken sternum kind is basically collagen II...a good product but not the effect of pure ha. Companies sell these varieties because they are a fraction of the cost of pure ha and they know most people don't know any better. |

This sounds really interesting. I did a quick search and your favored brand sells on amazon as well. What exactly is everyone using the pills for? Just skin? Does it help your hair, joint, healing, all the miracle things I'm seeing online? |

Hi Firefox - can you make recommendations that suit the criteria you mention?
Thanks |

Thank you, thank you for your input. I will keep all this in mind, makes sense what you explain because some just do not work. As far as getting skin eternal source naturals, I can definitely get online but I travel for work all the time and usually don't have the luxury of being in one place too long so ordering isn't always an option. Was thinking if I had another brand I can always source at at health food store or vitamin store where I am located.
As far as the results a member asked about.....major plumping in skin and reduced wrinkles!!! |

Yes, Firefox, can you recommend another product/brand besides Source Naturals Skin Eternal HA that meets that criteria...or is that the only good one....If so, I will just deal with it and order in bulk. Was just thinking that there has got to be another brand or two, maybe not though |

As I said I use Source Naturals and I linked you to a thread where I know other brands have been discussed.
Sorry but I think 7Destiny is mistaken about the difference between natural and artifical produced hyaluronic acid. In fact sodium hyaluronate is the form injected into joints and used in lubricant eye drops, so clearly it does have therapeutic benefits.
Source Naturals contains hydrolysed - chopped up by enzymes - cartilage collagen, including a specified amount of low MW HA. Various website claim Neocell use bovine skin, chicken sternum or fish. This study is helpful if you wish to understand more about source and molecular weight.

Firefox, sorry OT but you also use a HA externally, right? Could you name the product that you use or do you make your own, and if so how? TIA! |

Sodium hyaluronate does have benefit, but its not absorbed by the body as well as natural ha. Its often used because its 1/20 of the price of natural ha.
While I use a topical ha serum, I appreciate the effects of ingested ha capsules because the effect does go all over the body..eyes, joints, skin..holding moisture in. |
