Ever since I began heavily moisturizing my skin my eyeliner has been bleeding down below my lower eyelids. I haven't been using any new products, just lots of cream and oil (due to intense dryness from retin a) so I figure it has to be caused by the oils.
The past few days I have been very cautious when rubbing in the rosehip oil and not rubbing it too close to my lower eyelids, and I also brushed powder underneath my lids, but my eyeliner still ran.
Any suggestions on a new eyeliner, or product that I could apply that will help this? I prefer pencil eyeliner for my lower lid, but will consider liquid if it won't budge during the day! |

Do you use a make up primer? |

I have face primer but rarely use it. I will try that today. Is there an eyeliner primer? I think I may have an eyeshadow primer now that I think of it. Will have to search the makeup drawer for that one. |

I had my eyeliner tattoed a few years ago. It hurt like hell but was worth it, no more worrying about running eyeliner! |

Speaking of bleeding black eye liner....
I would like to know the cost of tatooing...
Maybe eyebrow too as mine is getting thinner...
But I don't like it too dark as it would look obvious that I had it tatooed.... Maybe dark brown... How much did you pay and where are you located?

I was thinking about this thread and can't imagine this being a problem for people still in 2011! Not that I have them, but I'm pretty sure there are reliable products out there to be had. I was going to recommend eyeliner gel, which works great for me. There are some great inexpensive ones from what I hear - I think I've got a maybelline one that was only about $10 or $12.
But today, I tried a bit of nyx liquid eyeliner, and holy, it dried on my hand super fast, and I've been rubbing and rubbing and washed my hands in the 5 hours since then and it hasn't budged. Super pigmented too - I tried the purple since it was the only one with a tester and it was VIVID - still a thick, deep, rich purple, and its only a quarter inch, single line! You know how a lot of dark colours just turn a dark grey or black? This one is still quite distinct!
I honestly don't think it'd come off - its actually a bit of a concern. I mean is it ink??
I bought an eyeshadow instead given the color payoff on those was also so impressive, but my conservative side ruled supreme and I only got a light sandy taupe... beautiful colour in the box at least, hope it stays true on and doesn't turn a gross pink or anything. |

I am in Australia so may not be relevent. I have both my eyebrows and top eyeliner tattoed. I had overplucked my eyebrows over the years, so had hardly any 'ends' on my eyebrows. I got tiny hair strokes so its not a straight line. It cost about $300 each (eyebrow and eyeliner) |

In her Makeup Wakeup book, makeup artist Sandy Linter recommends using pencil and then applying the same shade of powder over it to set it. Alternatively, she recommends liquid eyeliner with powder on top. I dot liquid Almay eyeliner among my eyelashes, then line above them with pencil, then reline with powder eyeshadow. It doesn't budge. |

Hi Bermie, where did you get your eyeliner tattooing done? I'm looking into this now as it's going to be one of my Christmas presents. That is, if someone can fit me in, in time!

But back on topic, I currently use Bourjois Liquid Eyeliner and its very long lasting - it doesnt budge all day. I've been buying the Bourjois branded eyeliner for close to 10 years - it's great stuff |

Did you try a long lasting eyeliner like MAC fluidlines? Also, you can add black eyeshadow over it, so it will keep the oils away and fix it. |

Agree with Crystal Candy. I had the same problem of running eyeliner and MAC Fluidline solved my problem. It comes in a pot and you apply with a thin brush. Love it! |

I've posted about this product before, but its really good for preventing eyeliner run. "She-Laq" by Benefit. Its a clear sealant, almost like a clear nail topcoat. It has a little brush in the lid so you just open and then wipe the liquid over your eyeliner and let it dry for a few minutes. It will last all day or night. I don't use it daily as I dont have that kind of time, but when I do my eyeliner lasts. You can't throw the jar in a drawer because the sealant will seal the lid shut. If you store it upright it is fine. |

I find that I cant use any heavy moisturizers in the morning or my makeup wont last long. Definitely look into gel/cream eye liners. They last so much better then pencils. Also specifically an eye primer will help. Some popular one's are: Urban Decay Primer Potion, too faced shadow insurance, and there is one by Lorac that I really like. |

I have the same problem. Liquid liners are better (recommend Stila's waterproof liner). Primers are a must for me - they definitely help. |

I just don't use eye cream or heavy lotions in the mornings and that seems to be a big help! |
