I guess it all depends on how much food a person eats overall, but to me that'd be excessive. I could probably polish off half a pound of chinese broccoli (cuz I love it!) and maybe incorporate more into the rest of my diet. I don't think even that much at once is good for me in one sitting though. I like to eat veggies along with meats, etc.. the fibre breaks up things and helps it all move through!
And I really don't think that eating something to the point where you're not enjoying it, and are actually put off by it, no matter how healthy it is, is good for you. I think its your body telling you that its no longer benefitting you. Splitting up portion throughout the day is a better way to go.
Broccoli's (various types) are amazing for me.
By the way, I've never been a big lettuce fan... I don't mind it, but find it not worth the bother for very little substance. Plus its not that nutritionally rich, is it? I always feel like I'm being delinquent seeing tons in the stores and never buying. |

I'm drinking green smoothies everyday. The most I can use is a bunch of kale, collard, card or spinach for two quart of smoothies. And that is for two of us. A bunch of greens is usually, I think, about 5-8oz. They are big but very light weight. It makes real green-green smoothie and I think it is enough for one day. |

Easiest ways are to eat large green smoothies, cooked greens seasoned with something flavorful, or Savory Veggie Stews (http://savorystews.rogerhaeske.com/; yes, I know they come across as gimmicky and overpriced, but I got it at $20 and they really are good!) |

I get a good dose of greens by making "crispy kale". Rip kale into pieces, work some olive oil on it, sprinkle with garlic salt and roast in the oven until crispy. It tastes good to me! |

1 pound of greens is
* 1 lb clamshell of Earthbound Organics spring mix (those large containers of spring greens at Whole Foods):

* Roughly 2 bunches of kale
* Roughly 1 bunch of bok choi

I eat one of those containers of greens a week! But a day? that would be almost $7 a day just for that alone..so $210 a month. That is unrealistic for most people's budgets |

It's not actually that expensive. It's much cheaper to buy lettuce by the head, rather in those containers. By the head, you can typically get greens at $2-3 per pound, with some intelligent choosing. However, those 1 lb clamshells of gourmet greens are helpful at showing the volume of baby spring greens that 1 lb equals. |

my intelligent self likes the convenience of clean dry organic greens at $7 bucks for the week in a nice container that sits perfectly in my fridge. lol
At my Whole Foods..organic bunches of greens can get very pricy. I find the tub a very good value and the price never changes.
Anyway..all this talk makes me want to up my greens intake ...sounds like a good idea. I also do green smoothies but use Green Vibrance with berries, banana, and almond milk. |
