Retin A Micro Gel Comparison
I've checked around the forum and it would be a major help to me if I could get a few comparisons on two products. Both are Retin A Micro Gels.
The first one is from Inhousepharmacy and is the Retin A Micro Gel 0.1% (Ortho brand)
The second is from All Day Chemist and is Retin A Micro Gel 0.1% (Sun Pharma)
If anyone has experience regarding quality, consistency , or effectiveness of the two products I would love to hear from you. |

I have used Retin A micro 0.04% from ADC and have had great results. I would definitely order it again from ADC. |

I've heard ADC uses a different base formulation in their retin A. Does this apply to the micro gel? Is it more oil based than alcohol or am I getting confused? |

Hi again - its a more gel like consistency, not oily at all. I think its mainly prescribed for acne but also used for anti-aging. Right now I'm using Retin A cream purchased in Mexico, but I like the retina a micro better. When I'm finished with the cream,I'll be going back to the micro. |

I'm trying some Medsmexs Mexico 0.5 cream at the moment too. It actually about £50.00 delivered to the UK. Quite expensive when compared to the ADC products. The cream doesn't really feel like it 's sinking in , although I expect it is. My skin feels the cream is still on top even after an hour.
I'm keen to try this micro gel next. Do you get any tingle at all from 0.4 micro gel and if so is this normal? I feel nothing from the cream at all. |

The cream is only for really dry/aged skin. It doesn't absorb or spread very well compared to the other formulations.
Retin-A micro is best for those with sensitive skin since it slowly releases the active ingredient over time, but it's not necessary if you don't have sensitive skin. It's also a bit more expensive too. When I first used RAM, I found it to have a bit of a burn that subsided after a couple minutes. But the one I received from ADC did not spread or absorb very well, so I switched over to the gel.
I like the gel very much as it is more watery so it spreads easier and also absorbs pretty quickly. I much prefer it to the micro one that I received. |

Having used the cream I now fully understand what you are saying. Even though I'm 44 my skin leans more towards greasier than dry. I guess a certain amount of trial and error is required.
The gel you like, is that from ADC too? Is it one of their unbranded ones? |

Yup it's from ADC too. I think there's only one on that site but it's by Shalaks.
It works, but I find it very unsettling that they are unwilling to disclose their ingredients list for their products. |
