These range from $6-18. Has anyone bought these? Is there an advantage to buying an expensive one?

Justine I wouldn't buy a cheap one. They're often poorly made with needles that will bend or even break off in your skin. Not only that some aren't cross hatched and the needles are only in rows. These don't work nearly as well.

Thanks. I'm currently checking that site out. I'm confuse with all the lengths? I have combination skin with acne and some pitted acne scars. With a little hyper-pigmentation. Which length should I order to address these problems?

I'm sorry but how can you judge something you haven't tried. These rollers are cheap cause they are made in korea. They are very strong, good quality with a good storage case.

I have been using this cheap roller for 3 months now and it has done nothing but improve my scars and stretch marks.

The perfect example is how in the Western world, they up the prices of products that were made for afew cents or dollars. Then increase the price but like 600%.

People always think expensive is better, that is not always the case
I would never buy those rollers from dr roller e.t.c they are just about making huge profits. I hope this ebay store puts them out of business

More confused than ever! My dr is selling the rollers from Des Fernadez for FIVE HUNDRED US DOLLARS. I knew that had to be too much...you could probably get a car for that amount.

Superdogg I wouldn't call $69 an outrageous price. That's darn cheap.
And I know that some people have gone out and bought some of those super cheap rollers and had problems with the needles bending and breaking. Just not worth the risk in my opinion.
And as I said before the cross hatched needles work better than the rows. That's in the studies somewhere.

Justine1900, are you sure that price does not include some products from Environ (and maybe the professional dermarolling session too?).

ETA: Have you seen that roller up close and can you tell me anything about it?

One of the dermarolling threads here also lists resources for dermarollers originally compiled by Bethany that may be worth checking out.

I'm pretty sure it's this one:
http://www.vivida.co.za/cosmetic_roll_cit

It was NZ$699.

No. He sells the Environ range and also does medical rolling. He is a fantastic doctor and charges less for Dysport and fillers than anyone else around. So I have to assume he isnt marking them up a lot. I know he imports them imself.

I did not realise they only last 12-18 months as it says in the ad.

That price usually includes some products included in the kit with the Environ roller. If you are interested in the cosmetic Environ roller and are in the US, contact DermoGenesis for a distributor in your area. That price is way higher than what I was quoted for the roller. I think Dr. Fernandes is fantastic and would love to meet that man personally. I am using his C-Quence product right now.

Okay, so I will be the guinea pig and check out these cheap knockoffs. I just bought a cheap derma roller micro-needling type tool from a Hong Kong eBay site for $10 (US dollars) with shipping included. I will report back with my results. It is a 3-row, narrow, 0.5mm needle size tool.

I found this site suggesting that we are in fact buying "pirated" copies of the original patented tool anyways. Great info on their testing of cheap copies and their assessment of it.

http://dermaroller.owndoc.com/

I also saw a great before and after photo on stretch marks. It makes me hopeful!

This website sells really cheap rollers with free shipping and a 0.25mm roller?
wow I'll probably get my rollers from there in the future.

oops I realised the 0.25mm are single needles. What are those for? lol.

They say the cheap rollers aren't made with medical grade steel, and you can scar your skin. But how can you tell which is which?
