l was looking for retin A inWWW.unitedpharmacies.co.uk, and l readed about REGEN-D ;does anybody tried or know this product? and how it worked for you?...is it dangerous for your health to your opinion?----------------------
-
Brand: Regen-D 150 / Epidermal Growth Factor 150ug/g
Medicine Name: Recombinant Human Epidermal Growth Factor Gel; BETA-UROGASTRONE
Country of Origin: India
Manufacturer: Bharat Biotech
Other Brand Names: Hebermin
Packaging: 15g Tube of 150ug/g

What is Epidermal Growth Factor (Beta-urogastrone) used for?

Epidermal growth factor, commonly known as EGF, is a protein found in the human body. It has been identified as having attributes of cell growth and differentiation. This is important because it aids scientists in understanding diseases where cells have been compromised. Some examples of these diseases include tumors, senile dementia, malformations and wound healing. EGF was discovered by scientists Stanley Cohen and Rita Levi-Montalcini. The Nobel Prize in Medicine was award to the two in 1986 for their work with EGF. EGF works by attaching to epidermal growth factor receptors that are on the skin’s surface. A chemical reaction occurs that causes biochemical changes within a cell. These change result in cell revitalization.

Another benefit of EGF has been its ability to quicken healing time. When applied as a topical cream to burns and wounds, EGF has been shown to reduce the length of recovery. In clinical trials where EGF was used to treat wounds or burns, the rate at which the wound or burn healed was significantly faster. Additionally, studies have shown that wounds of the cornea have also shown remarkable results in regards to quicker healing. EGF works at the cellular level to convert the damaged cells into healthy cells. EGF’s application could be far-reaching and be able to restore health in cells in the liver, thyroid, ovaries and pituitary glands.

EGF has also been shown to rejuvenate the skin for a young appearance. Women who had been having Botox injections and laser treatments in order to regain younger and more vibrant skin are now considering EGF a viable option. EGF helps to treat discolored skin as restores elasticity to the skin.

Epidermal Growth Factor has been used in topical creams. The traditional course of treatment to regenerate aging skin is twice daily for four to six weeks.

Side Effects of Epidermal Growth Factor

There have been minimal side effects reported with the use of Epidermal Growth Factor. However, if any of the following side effects occur, immediately seek medical assistance.

There have been reports on interaction with Epidermal growth factor receptor as well as PIK3R2. As with most topical creams, there is an increase risk of some of the following reactions: rash, itching, redness and tenderness. If any of these symptoms appear, discontinue use and contact your doctor.
***This product should be kept refrigerated. Although it is packaged with an ice pack, we recommend you also choose the EMS (express delivery) shipping option to help avoid the possibility of expiration.***-------------------------------------------

I've used EGF in a couple of purchased serums. No adverse reactions, but nothing "WOW!" either.

Skinactives sells it as well: http://www.skinactives.com/product/detail.aspx?prodID=37

If we're comparing The Regen-D with the Skinactives product, do you think we're comparing apples with apples - or is the Regen-D a drug? Note, it has to be kept refrigerated which I don't think is necessary with the Skinactives product.

Maybe this product deserves some closer scrutiny.

ETA: Apparently it's used for the healing of leg ulcers in diabetics.

The Skinactives EGF does mention to refrigerate under usage, but I don't see mention of what type of, or source derived from the stem cells are? It only says the active ingredient in ReVive line?

The Regen-D is recombinant human Epidermal Growth Factor (which apparently means it's been produced by genetic engineering).

I am sure it's apples and oranges, as I doubt Skinactives could produce or sell legally anything along those lines. Just posting what info is on their site! Rolling Eyes

Hi, ladies,
regarding the EGF here in my country they use it after dermarolling. Supposedly it helps with collagen building post to dermarolling. The scheme goes like this - numbing, rolling-in my case 1.5, then COgel - 15min, rolling gently second time - apply EGF gel, not wash some 3hrs. According to my doctor if the skin pores are not opened as with roller, there is no use applying EGF. Even 0.25 is good enough.

hello neff!
thankyou so much for your advise! it is so helpful to know that EGF need almost a little abrasion before to use it to make it work... l'm just thinking about using dermarolling too...only worry because , sometimes l had some keloids on my body ): more if l scratch my skin , or burn it my skin grows very lasting dark spot...
l maybe would try on my upper harm... no so important if it will grow some keloids or spot...it is more easy to heal it in that place, also l do not care so much to have a (little) dark spot on my inner upper harms Wink

Dermarolling is an excellent way of penetrating EGF and blood plasma. But the Regen-D is a genetically modified EGF especially for treating ulcers in diabetics - it's for the treatment of wounds. I think it's a gigantic leap of faith to start rolling this into the face without allot more information on the consequences.

Hey ladies, did anyone end up trying this? I feel like the jury's still out on EGF in general. I'm about to do a heavy duty dermaroller treatment and am trying to get all my actives in order. I know EGF creams can be compounded with a doc's Rx - unfortunately I don't know of any derms who would write a prescription for me. Anyone have a hookup?
