| hi guys... i'm a newbie and i've been roaming around here for a while and i just love this place!! I need your help so please feel free to give my your suggestions. I'm 25 and 80 pounds overweight. I'm losing weight and i'm afraid of what it'll do to my face. I've been reading about flexeffect and i was wondering, will it help my face as i lose weight? I'm carb sensitive, i gain weight easily so i'm doing a high protein with a mix of meal shakes and solid foods (chicken, veggies, etc...) Should i do flexeffect during my weight loss or after i reach goal? Please guys, any advice you have will help. |

| I'm not on flexeffect but I'm using the original Carole Maggio exercises and found they have helped define the face after losing 35 pounds. |

I'd recommend doing it during your weightloss. Also, I recommend losing the weight SLOWLY--the latter will give you the least amount of skin droop and gauntness afterwards. I'm not overweight, but I want to drop my body fat even lower and get even leaner to go for more of a fitness model physique, so I'm doing it super-slowly since I have a thin face, and I can't tell you how important it is. I aim for 1-2 lbs a month, but I'm sure you can do more than that...I would guess roughly 1 lb a week, at least initially, then taper down to less thereafter or whenever it appears that you're losing too fast. Good luck and best wishes for getting healthier |

When I was about 20 years old, I was overweight. I could successfully lose 20 pounds. The method is simple and you must persevere and be determined to keep doing it. Eat less and do more exercise.
In those days, I ate only vegetables and fruit. Some pork only. No junk food and oily food. I couldn't touch my favourite desserts - ice cream, cheesecake, pudding, chocolate. No buffet!
Every week, I went swimming at least three times. The other days, I went jogging. As I seldom did any exercise, it was quite painful at first. Then, I adapted to this lifestyle finally.
I think it is important to change your eating habit and lifestyle. Be patient and be determined.
Good luck! I believe you'll find the right way to lose weight and be healthy. The main point is to lose weight moderately. To be healthy is priceless! |

You have youth on your side, so as long as you lose your weight slowly (1 to 2 pounds per week), your face should not sag. Adding facial exercise now could only benefit you more.
I'm 49 and have gained and lost anywhere from 20 to 85 pounds like a freakin' yoyo since I was 15 years old. My skin has taken a beating. I've recently lost about 40 pounds, with another 45 to go, and didn't start exercising my face until 10 weeks ago with Ageless If You Dare. I can feel that my muscles are getting stronger because I can tense them more now than at the beginning of my program. But I feel that the weight I have yet to lose is hampering any physical changes that I can actually see happening to my face. Maybe once I lose another 15-20 pounds and add another couple of months of facial exercise I believe I will start to see a difference.
But I do think you will feel a difference in how your face feels by starting to exercise it now. Good luck to you. |

I love doing flexeffect and am also in the process of losing weight. I am in my late forties so for me it is very important to firm everything as I lose weight.
Any exercise you do will be a time commitment in addition to your body exercise. I would suggest searching youtube for free facial exercise and get into the habit of doing those before you invest in any program. Tom Haggerty has free exercises on his website and I think Carolyn Cleaves puts some free ones on hers. So you can get started today. That's just my opinion.
As Sandooch said, you are young and you have time and elasticity on your side! Any eating plan that you do should be one that you can maintain once you lose weight. Also you should skinbrush and do your cardio and weighttraining to keep your body firm as you lose weight. |

Hi, Claudia here, from FlexEffect.
I'm in agreement your facial work should be done while losing weight. In the same way I think you should do some form of resistance with your BODY.
For example, if you carry in your arms, will you work your triceps? Or will you wait until you have bat wings to do anything about it? See where I'm going with this?
I can't guarantee you won't have sag. However, at your age, and assuming you're actually healthy, sleeping, not partying etc your skin should bounce back.
Good luck with your goals!!! |
