I've been doing some research on the ingregients of so called non-comedogenic cleansers and moisturizers using cosDNA, and I've been finding that most contain comedogenic ingredients. How can they do this? Am I missing something here? |

I'd guess that whether an ingredient has a comedogenic effect depends on its concentration... and possibly the final product contains not enough of that ingredient to provoke the response and/or the final product tests as non-comedogenic.
I suppose it's somewhat reassuring to see "non-comedogenic" on a label, and perhaps its a good place to start, but lots of times what clogs you up & makes you break out will just come down to individual biology. I've broken out from things labeled non-comedogenic, and I've used products containing supposedly comedogenic ingredients like sulfur, algae extract & various oils without a problem. |

Its frustrating but it really comes down to finding out what your skin can tolerate or not. To me non-comedogenic means nothing. |

I so agree it is a marketing term, we see it on the forum all the time, some people break out from just about anything which can differ with the individual! |
