i found a recipe on this forum to make a therapeutic primer for acne prone skin. it reads as:

2 silk powder
1 pearl powder
1/2 titanium oxide
1/3 zinc oxide

now as i am looking through tkbtrading website, question pop up like:
what kind of silk and pearl powder should i use? what particle size should i use for titanium oxide and zinc oxide.

i guess i should use hydrolyzed pearl powder for pearl paste as a night cream, but how about primer / finish powder? i do not usually wear any makeup, so i need a loose powder product that is light, natural and does not look as if i am wearing any makeup, but can control excess oil production.

I have not made a cream with pearl powder, but for my MMU I use just 100% pure pearl powder and it is very fine, same with the silk powder I have (sorry the co. that I purchased from folded). For the ZO and TD I get micronized it is finely ground and makes a smooth product that applies very nicely.
You realize all the powders are white and won't add any color without any pigments added?

yes, i realize they are all white.

so how about on top of my water based serum, apply tinted moisturizer, and then use this white finish powder?

as of pearl powder you bought, does it dissolve in water?

The recipe describes this as a primer, used normally between skincare and makeup, what my concern is it may look very white as a finishing powder. If you wish to use it that way then yes apply after your tinted moisturizer is "dry".

Pearl powder does not dissolve in water, it would settle and have to be shaken. Are you looking for a pearl cream recipe?

well, it looks like i have mixed up 2 questions.

so the first question is answered, if i want to make finish powder over tinted moisturizer, i should buy micronized pearl and silk powder.

second question is about pearl cream / mask as overnight therapy. it seems that i should get hydrolyzed pearl powder.

Are you planning on adding it to an existing cream or are you making the cream/mask from scratch? I think the hydrolized would work just fine for either. Smile

for pearl paste i will add to aloe vera gel as a night mask. i think i may dissolve it into saturate water solution and mix with aloe vear gel. if it is too watery, i will add some gel maker or yogurt powder, how does it sound like?
