I am looking for a vegan alternative for glycerin, but it is important to me to maintain the all-natural structure of what I make.
Thanks for your help, I'm new to the forum but looking through it's very informative & I love the spirit of community here.
All the best,
Jes

Hi,

I find mine at my local health food store, but a reputable seller is Mountain Rose Herbs.

I've never used glycerin before but I have a new idea I want to try out that I need it for. (the fact that it'll solidify the product etc is key) O see the vegetable glycerin is marketed for its effect on moisturizing but I'm curious if you've used it before, can it be used like traditional (beef derived) glycerin?

I only use Organic Vegetable Glycerin, However it is my understanding they are interchangeable at least for any use I know of. I mainly use it for making my own Rosewater and Glycerin and in a few serums. I do believe it will solidify as in homemade Glycerin soaps.

I've only ever used vegetable glycerin. It's a humectant so it's perfect for adding to facial serums.

DM, where do you get your organic vegetable glycerin from?

My local health food store luckily carries it, but a source I trust and have purchased from for years (decades) is http://www.mountainroseherbs.com I have seen they do carry it.

HTH

Edit, Here is a direct link,

Ah, thanks, so you were indeed referring to MRH. I wasn't sure if that's what you were saying/implying. Thanks, that's helpful! Smile

Yes, I have been ordering many products from them for a very long time, I make my own herbal extracts as well as other things and they are great about all certified wild-crafted organic only!

Sorry if I was not clear initially.

You are welcome cm Very Happy

Hi There,

I get mine from Iherb - over 200 excellent reviews on this product:

Now-Foods-Vegetable-Glycerin

If you like you can use the code FIJ796 to get $5 off your order.

Good luck, love using veg glycerin!
