Cindyadam, this is such a complex topic and its getting discussed every day, to the point that Im not prepared to wait for samples anymore. Im about to make a decision. Skinceuticals or Vivier....... aaaaaaahhhhhhhh i dont know. |

I have such sensitive skin, that i can't wear most of the sunscreens on the market - they burn my skin, and cause big welts. My face and chest area are especially sensitive. I haven't been able to use any real anti-aging stuff...but i'd like to try a serum just on a bit of a wrinkle that's trying to get settled in...
I've gotten some recommendations for serums that work well; i just wondered about how my skin will react. |

I also have sensitive skin and any vit c serum causes my dermatitis to flare up. |

Sorry to hear that. I guess all i can do is try something as a spot treatment, and see how the skin reacts... |

Definitely do a spot test if you have sensitive skin. |

I'd suggest you getting a sample. Sounds like you're pretty reactive. I am fairly sensitive too and it dried me out a bit...but the results I got were good.
Cellex C for sensitive skin is a 7.5% serum that would probably be good for you to start with. Do get a sample first though since you're so sensitive |

For really sensitive skin I would actually go with the Vivier formulation but one for the eye area. While you're there, try to get a sample of the 10% serum so you can figure out if that's too strong. |

A lot of people are recommending the Vivier. I had made an order a day or so ago and requested a sample of any C serum, so I'll see if i get something i can try. So far though, the Vivier seems quite popular |

I have moderately sensitive skin and I would like to try a C serum..
But I have a bit of an allergy to Vitamin C.. (I assume the C in C Serum is vitamin C??)
I take a multivitamin with 60mg.. but if I take more than that I break out - all over my face. And it takes a good week or more to start clearing up..
Do yall think putting it directly onto my face would be like inviting a disaster?? |

If I developed an allergy to my VitC (vivier)I'd FLIP! I'd be careful trying it...but I'd probably give it a go anyway (easy for me to say, eh?!) I used to use Cellex C. I find the Vivier C serum much more skin-friendly (no irritation whatsoever- and I'm using the 20..)

Personally I don't think it would be the same as ingesting it at all. Then again, I'm not a doctor! I suggest you go for a sample first. I have not had any breakouts from vitamin C in the past. You could also try a serum that has vit C Ester (I think Jan Marini use that in theirs, as do a few other companies) instead of l-ascorbic. It's not as effective but it should lower the chances of you reacting to it or getting any skin irritation. |
