I went to CVS the other day hoping to purchase some Cerave facial moisturizer after reading such great things about it on this forum. However, it lists two kinds of parabens in it and one is methylparaben. I was so disappointed to read this because I know that methylparaben, when exposed to UV rays, can contribute to skin aging.
Even though it's very low on the list of ingredients, I'm still afraid to use it. I avoid the sun as much as possible, but we all have to drive or be out in the daylight even if it's just for running a simple errand. It seems that it's hard to find products with all the great ingredients that Cerave has without parabens at a reasonable price. |

If you are applying a decent SS as the last thing prior to makeup (if wearing any) you are fine with the very tiny amount!
You would have to avoid almost everything if you let all the scare tactics get to you. JMHO! |

I do wear a sunscreen as well, but it feels like too much under my makeup if I wear all of that. (Any recommendations for a good sunscreen to wear under makeup)?
I try not to let these things scare me, but I like to stay away from parabens because I just don't think they're good for me in any amount. It's still on my skin whether I wear the sun screen or not, you know? I don't see how the sun screen would cancel out the fact that there are parabens on my skin. |

I use Burnout either the kids or clean and clear formulas for my ss.
I can suggest you check links on a thread I started ages ago for something comparable without any parabens.

BellaKai, do you have the link to the study proving this to be true about methylparaben? I'd like to see it please if you do have it, because I've never heard this before. And I don't know if you know this but parabens are also formed in your body when you eat certain berries! |

Hi, EG!
Yes, here is one article explaining it. I think I have read that about berries, but I had forgotten it. Is it with certain berries or all kinds? I eat blueberries regularly for the antioxidants.

The link works EG!
Many lotions and potions (even ss) have EO's that can cause photo-sensitivity, but I always wonder how much they use in these studies? |
