According to these two links (see below), Jennifer Lopez used to have stretch marks on her stomach and hips. Lately, I saw some photos of her on the beach (after taking a swim, I presume), and you couldn't see the marks anymore. What happened? Did she laser them away?

There was a bit of discussion in this similarly entitled thread that might be helpful: Smile

How did Jennifer Hudson get rid of her stretch marks?

God she's fabulous. My kinda girl. She doesn't care about stretchmarks, she knows she's fabulous lol. (Plus, those stretchmarks resemble the war she went through to have her beautiful babies. I'd wear them like they were a damn medal!)

LOL. I just read that 90% of women will have stretch marks babies, weight gain or not! My oldest jumped over one summer from a B cup to a DD cup and she got them at 13!

Shock

I got stretchmarks in several places at 13 too. Laughing They're like white now and blend in with my vampire-like skin lmao. I don't care about stretchmarks. Who cares?! You're still gorgeous and fabulous no matter what. Stretchmarks, cellulite, doesn't matter. Work what ya Mama gave you!!! Own it. That's my motto. Cool

What is funny for me is I had 4 huge babies and I am very small so massive belly, not a single stretch mark there, but the girls made up for that! Bad Grin

I just moisturized as usual, I guess I just have elastic skin on my belly! I honestly looked 10 months pregnant with twins at 6 months! Bad Grin

But nothing saved the breasts! Shock

My mother and maternal grandmother both had several children and never got stretch marks. My maternal aunts are also stretch-mark free, although they have children.

However, I've been plagued with them since my girlhood years.

Why couldn't I have inherited those genes?

I wish I had an answer, just like I have no idea why only one area (well technically two) got them yet no place else on my body? Question

Unlike me, you all must have very discerning eyes.

I could barely see the stretch marks in the first picture.

You have to go through them all. I only saw stretch marks on her hips and butt, though, not on the tummy.

I can't see them in one set of pictures at all either Veronica, and very barely in the other. Wink

In some of the comments, people were pointing to where they were. I once saw a zoomed-in photo of where there were.

That might be the one where I actually noticed she has some! Smile

It was the first one.

I hope to find that picture for you.

I still think that JLo is incredibly georgeous and to think that she'll be 43 next month!

I agree she is, nobody has no flaws! I personally like a flaw here and there over those who just look plastic! Very Happy

If I had the nerve I'd show you all some REAL stretch marks. J Lo's are cute by far. Mine look like a topigraphical map. Utter destruction!

Claudia, I bet that they're really not as bad as you think they are. Women are usually their own worst critics.

Here's a photo of a person whose stretch marks were caused by Cushing's syndrome: http://www.atsu.edu/postgrad/dermatology/ppt/subq2005_files/slide0029_image067.jpg

This is a very serious case of stretch marks.

I don't have any down my legs. Mine look as bad on the stomach, but are NOT red! So imagine those white and several more lines. And then no legs.

Yes, hers are worse. Poor thing. And from disease on top of that. That's just not fair!

I got mine at 13 after a pretty severe illness while travelling in the tropics. They thought I had malaria.
I only weighed 95 lbs but lost 10 and developed these tiger-stripes on the sides of my hips/butt. For someone so skinny it was pretty wierd, but I decided that I really liked them! They look a little like these
http://ritesofpassage.blogspot.ca/ but there are only about a half dozen.

Very strange that I only gained back what I lost and no more but still got the marks?

I used to have a dark brown visible line going down from my belly button which really bugged me, but happily, its faded.

That is odd Lori, usually you hear that when the skin stretches from weight gain, puberty or pregnancy, not weight loss! hmm

DarkMoon, weight loss can indeed cause stretch marks.
