There are studies that show that caffeine, aminophylline (xanthines), l-carnitine,phospatidylocholine and AHAs are proven ingredients to firm the skin and reduce cellulite.I know that the results may be temporary but I don't mind incorporating a cellulite cream in my daily routine.By the way I m 25,slightly underweight with more muscle and less fat on my body.I work out with weights but since I was 12 I have cellulite bumps. My mother has a huge cellulite problem.
I m looking for a cream that has good quantities of these ingredients and its not just water, alcohol and artificial perfume.Do you have any recomendations?otherwise any recipe for diy?

Water and alcohol as part of the base are probably rather common.

Coffee grinds used as a scrub in the shower is suppose to be helpful. I have also heard dry brushing. I use both but not for cellulite so I cant comment on how on they work for that.

You right though, any topical only provides temporary results.

Creams are a waste of money; you can use them to supplement your exercises/diet/massages if you wish, but on their own they are a useless.

The most effective way to combat cellulite is massage - either at the salon, or at home. I did a honey massage about 9 years ago that helped a lot, you have to repeat the course (10 sessions every other day) twice a year. It's cheap and effective.

Another option that lots of people swear by, but I haven't tried it yet is vacuum massage, either at the salon or using special cups (you can get them on ebay). It is a very potent massage that should be done with precautions such as no massage if you have varicose veins, no massage on the inner thigh and the motion is only upwards - what you are trying to do is increase your lymph flow which will decrease your cellulite.

I am currently doing dry brushing; since I am 6 months pregnant, I can't really do much. I purchased the vacuum cups but I can't start the massage until I give birth.

The dry brushing has not been effective, but again, my condition usually gives people more cellulite so it's not a good time to judge it's efficiency. I am going to continue the dry brushing - it feels great, and takes 5 mins, and the added bonus is exfoliation.

Once I give birth, I am planning on doing the following:

- coffee grinds scrub in the shower
- cup massage
- GUAM (or any other sea weed) wraps
- maybe use up the cream leftovers I have
- exercise, such as t-tapp and running
- dry brushing

I have the same problem as you, even at 18 weighing 98lbs, with 17" waist I had cellulite (:

Creams is a cosmetic treatment and I found Sisley brand really good.
Diets did not help me, because I did eat a healthy diet & very healthy lifestyle. I was in really good shape, hard, lean body and that is when I got them.

No cream can remove cellulite 100%, if at all. many people are confused what cellulite is. It is a normal fatty fibrous tissue in the female body. You can't turn one type of tissue into another using a cream. Cellulite can be made less visible, but it's a life long maintenance.

The most effective thing is to INCREASE blood and lymph circulation in the areas that you want to minimize cellulite - this is done with massage, either at home, or at the salon.

If you really want to spend money, buy yourself organic honey and do a course of honey massage - that reduced my cellulite by 70% and I had visible (stage 2 cellulite). You can put your cream on after but cream alone regardless of the claims made, will not remove your cellulite. Neither will exercise alone or diet alone. You gotta do triple approach.

As I said, the most effective way to combat cellulite and not let it get out of hand is diet/exercise/massage together!
Some say that seaweed wraps work too, but I haven't tried these.

Thank you. I don't think that a cream can reduce cellulite 100% but if it helps a lot with water retention and firming the skin in the winter, then in spring a more intense approach with some massage device or treatment ,this combination could work to maintain the body in a good condition.I ve ordered the lierac morpho slim cream ,I will write a review about it.

Nivea has a cellulite cream. I'm not sure what is in it, but I think it contains some herbs in addition to some other things. It works but it is only temporary.
