I bought this from amazon for only $14 plus $6 shipping, its unavailable at the moment but following is the link:
http://www.amazon.com/Conair-HBRP08-Hair-Removal-System/dp/B0017OI64K
another website selling it:
http://www.buy.com/pr/product.aspx?sku=204591576&sellerid=25728021
apparently it does not work for everyone but I am the lucky one, I guess... u need to have thicker hair for this device to be effective!! lol...
First time I use it, it took me a long time to do my legs , I guess I had showered and my hair still had moisture in it even after few hours.. u need to be completely dry with no lotion on for this to work properly.. 2nd time I used it, it was very very easy and i was done in 5 to 10 minutes.... it not only removes hair but also exfoliates, and no ingrown hair at all!... need to use the razor around knees though...
Razor is way easier to use but I was always left with ingrowns here n there... |

Does this basically sand the hairs away? That is what it reminds me of sanding discs! :}

a little longer than shaving... if u don't have ingrown hair issue than razor may be better as it's easier to use...
also, this device is heavy! |

Ok by ingrown issues, can you explain a bit? The only area that happens with is the biknini area, legs or underarms never! Lucky me huh.
so if thats the case, would the infomercial hand held ones be good for bikini area and good old razor for rest!
I have very light hair, light in texture and light in color! |

actually I wanted to try the hand held one myself.. I think they would be better for a smaller area like the bikini area.. I ended up buying this as there was almost no difference in the price between the hand held version and the electric one...
Also, conair claims to have a unique rotation system... there are 2 portions in each disc and they rotate in a different directions.. |

it does look neat! I do think hand held for sensitive areas, less chance of opps , and I am prone to oops! But for legs I think this gadget, tons less time |

honestly if the hand held version works, then it might be quicker than the electric version... but conair claims to have a unique rotation system... there are 2 portions in each disc and they rotate in a different directions.. |

LOL, I had a really cheap version that came with something as a gift only it was totally manual, I know it is like the super fine sanding files used to buff artificial nails! |
