In several EDS posts, forum posters have claimed that they like one brand of mascara over another brand.
Why is that?
From my experience, almost all the mascaras that I've used have given me similar results, and I've never noticed that one brand outshined another.
For those who think otherwise, what is it that would make some mascaras better than others? Do some make the eyelashes look bigger, do they last longer, are they less irritating, etc? |

Its a personal thing Veronica. For me I prefer a wetter mascara versus a dry one. I get more product on my lashes that way and they go on easily. Some wet mascaras I love are the Voluminous ones by L'Oreal, particularly the Voluminous Million Lashes. Its just fantastic.
Rimmel and of all things NYC mascaras are good too. |

There is something in about 99% of mascaras that make my eye lids swell up. So by default, the only brands I can wear are Dior Show and Jane Iredale. So I must love them....or go without! |

LauraLizzie,
Have you ever tried organic mascaras? |

I haven't tried organic mascara. I have noticed mascaras have too many ingredients and trying to figure what one (or 2 ingredients) are giving me trouble seems impossible.
Aveda mascara bothered me, not a true organic prouct.
Anyway, I got tired of buying products and throwing away my money so I just stick with 2 kinds. |

Sometimes I think its the brush more than the formula ! But the forumlas are different, some leave me with "crunchy" lashes, thick clumpy ones or skimpy ones. You'd think a mascara is a mascara is a masacra, but nooooooooooo! |

I hate mascaras that flake or clump (even teeny-tiny lumps) so I like a somewhat thinner texture that I can layer. The wand makes a difference too, I prefer plastic wands to a bristle brush because they seem to run through the lashes better and don't get lint! |

LOL see I love big "Teddy Bear" brushes, and unlike SusieQ (no offense it's personal) I find wet mascara won't build at all, it seems as though I apply a second coat and off comes the first?
1/2 way not too wet not too dry works best for me! |

I am sure application technique is relevant, I don't wear make up daily so am no pro! |

Is there any way to know before purchasing if a mascara's formula is thick or thin? |

The trick is when applying to lower lashes, one MUST open their mouths Or am I the only one that looks in the mirror and notices my mouth is NOW open lmaoooooooooooooooo |

I have used ZuZu but not sure where to purchase online, I get it at Whole Foods. I know of another but just blanked on the name RS, I will post it once I can recall!
I do really like the ZuZu even if the name is funny!
I found it, Ecco Bella Natural Vegan Mascara

I have and because of the brush difference I prefer the ZuZu, but Ecco Bella is a nice formula and I do like it. |

I know what DOESNT set them apart, these mascaras with collagen in them!! all of the low end companies are jumping on that wagon. |

I think the brush and the way you apply the mascara matters moreso than the mascara itself. |
