I think I may have found my cream, for that lovely juicy skin look Exclamation

Maybellines BB cream
dream fresh, universal glow.

it is lovely, not too thick to go on, dosent look like you have make up on but sort of smoothes out tone ,and texture of my skin. It also lasts a good long time,I love it so far

its blemish, balm cream, some are tinted, this isnt really. I think it started in korea or japan a few years age, but Ive been looking for a cream that doesnt make me look like a zombie and evens out my skin tone, and this seems to do it

I found the developer and she is a German PS, it then took off in Japan and Korea, now they produce a lot of the brands. Some now coming to American brands.
It was mainly to be gentle after procedures but give coverage, treatment and sun protection all in one.

That was the original intent anyway!

My curiosity got to me one day and I went and found the originator of BB creams! I can't remember her name off the top of my head, German spelling too! Smile
It is still sold and she has a site! Very Happy

I have a feeling mine will also, I like the idea of a safe option to cover the red once I start sticking mini pins in my face! Laughing

I really like the Maybelline BB cream as well. It has good coverage and I find it goes on smoother than the pink Skin79 one that I've also tried.

How does the BB cream differ from a tinted moisturizer, in terms of how it looks on your skin?

I wonder what's in it.

I really like the idea of BB creams, but will avoid Garnier, Maybeline and the other cheap brands when possible, as I'm thinking that they often have a lot of junk and fillers in them.

For now I think I'll wait until one of the "cleaner" brands comes on the market with something, preferably in a selection of shades.

BTW I did use Clinique City Block some years back. It didn't do any moisturizing, but even the combo of sunscreen and tint in one application was very nice.

From the originator:

BLEMISH BALM
COVERING SPECIAL CARE FOR REDDENED, IRRITATED AND IMPURE SKIN

The texture with panthenol and bisabolol calms reddened skin. Especially developed for irritated, large-pored and impure skin. Redness and impurities subside more quickly and can perfectly be covered with the respective colour shade according to the individual skin tone. The BB Cream has a soft matting effect and leaves a pleasant, non-greasy skin feeling. Available in 3 different colour shades.

She doesn't seem willing to give up her formula but lists this:

Effective ingredients
Zinc oxide: anti-inflammatory, concealing
Titanium dioxide: concealing, protecting
Liquorice root: calming
Panthenol: moisturising
