I'm not sure why but my neck has been really aging of late. I use Retin-A (currently but .05% but often .10%) religiously on my face and love the stuff.

So, anyway, I'd like to use the Retin-A on my neck but have read that it can cause irritation and I definitely don't want to make things worse.

Any tips? Anyone had success/failure with Retin-A on their neck?

Ive wanted to use it on my neck for a while, I tried and I stupidly applied it as often as I did my face, so my neck turned so red and sore. It was a huge mistake.

If youre going to start applying it there, stick to the guidelines religiously... only apply once every 3 days for a while, and slowly increase. I didnt trust people when they said the neck was sensitive

So the skin on the neck is much more sensitive? Or is just more thin?

I'm a male, so my skin seems tough in the neck area. But I guess that's not the case, eh?

Hello why9999

I use retin-a on my neck, never had a problem with a reaction. However I do CFF and Ageless' neck exercises and have found that the skin on my neck is quite tough and thick which might account for lack of reactiveness. In the winter my neck looks a bit older than in the summer, goosebumps are so unattractive, but I can wear a different scarf everyday in the winter which hides the bit of aging I see and also the scarves keep my neck warm which in turn help my neck skin to absorb all the lovely creams and even oils that I use on it in the winter.

Neck skin can be drier and thinner, which can make it more sensitive. Do you shave? That can damage the skin barrier and make it more sensitive also.

I use Retin A on my neck the same way I use it on my face. I see no difference.

I use .1% on my face nightly and 3 x a week on neck. The other nights I use .05%. I plan on working up to .1% nightly on the neck as read that this strength has the best results. Just make sure the Retin A is fully absorbed and doesn't pool in the neck lines as they will become raw.
