This might be a stupid question but i'm asking it - has anyone tried ky jelly? The main ingredient is glycerin. Not as thick as the pose gel though. |
I have only used the gel sold with the device but there is a discussion here about the Stop and if you read through it you will see some gel options that people are trying. I am not comfortable with experiencing however these devices are used with higher strength that are profesional and I am sure they are using affordable gels.

I am from the us and I too and having difficulty with this device. I just returned one because I could not use with slow circles because I would get burned. I was told to return the unit which I did. I received the new one today..and with the settings on low..the orange light comes on almost immediately...put it on high...the same thing...when I take it away from my body the orange light stays on for 14 seconds then goes out...I think the one I returned worked better and im beginning to think the problems I'm having are do to the unit connections...how am I supposed to know when to move on if the orange light is always lit...I'm quite dissapointed. |

I have tried :(side by side comparison with the tripollar stuff on one side of my stomach and test stuff on other.)
Olive oil- took too long to heat the tissue
Vit. e. oil - too sticky didn't glide
Emu oil - about same as olive oil
scar gel - no heat transfer
Hair gel (glycerin/aqua base) - too fast in heating
aloe vera cream (lanolin/glycerine based) - ok but too messy, took a while to heat up
Have not found any ky jelly to try but am intrigued, also will look for some gel they use for ultrasound. Will post later.
By the way I REUSE the gel, moving it from my butt when I am done to my stomach area. S'good! |

I make my gel and have been for years it works perfectly infact better than the real stuff.
I buy Glycerine from boots the chemist about 82pence a bottle.
I then buy gelatine I use tesco finest as it is very thin sheets.
The recipe will vary depending on the size of the pot you are going to use, I wash and reuse the stop pot.
I use about 1/4 of a sheet of gelatine I soak it in water for the five minuets to soften it.I measure the amount of Glycerine I need by pouring it in to my pot. I then warm the Glycerine in a glass jug or cup in the microwave. (use a really low setting)it gets hot quick. when it is warm enough I mix it with the gelatine make sure it is well mixed and disovled. I then pour it into my pot and leave it to set I turn it now and then just to keep mixing. How firm you want the mix is up to you I like it quite runny buy adding more gelatine it will set firmer and by adding less it will be softer. It works out about 20pence a pot. I hope this helps. |

By the way I also use a microcurrent machine and make the Gel for that to by using water instead of Glycerine. It makes a great water based gel.

My new Sistah Sis the Sweet one just sold me her STOP which arrived in oh so perfect condition. I was having a problem with the thing turning off mid treatment and Essential Day Spa came to my rescue. I can't believe they got a company rep to tell us girls to use force to plug the adapter to the unit, which immediately solved my problem. Lovin' my new soul mate. Husband out. STOP in. It's hotter. |

Yes, I had the same problem with my Stop. The reason it was going off was the connection was not secure. You have to push hard on the plug to push it into the unit. I hope you like it. |

I have to interject one funny thing about KY jelly. Gilbert Gottfried on the radio called KY Jelly and said, "I tried your Kentucky jelly and found it to not be very good. It's not sweet and I don't like it." Back to topic, I have glycerin in my ebay cart that I think is for other uses but I don't care. Multitasking. I don't find the STOP gel offensive at all--just a little messy. I just smeared it everywhere like he way I apply moisturizer--eye area--everywhere. It doesn't irritate my eyes. |
