Hi everyone,
It sounds impossible to find but can anybody suggest a moisturizer for dehydrated skin prone to breakouts that is all natural and has SPF (oh, and no silicone!)? I am currently using Juice Beauty Tinted Moisturizer SPF30 - Sand. It is really good in terms of protection but my skin feels dehydrated. But, hands down, this is the best I could find. may be somebody is in the same shoes as me, so please advice! Thanks a bunch |

Hey!
What you seek is a way to walk the thin line of using a natural sunscreen with dry skin. Mostly all natural sunscreens use zinc oxide which is also considered an astringent for skin. It can lead to even more dryness.
I would consider Cosmedix Reflect. It is the most basic, natural sunscreen I can think of. It has almost a handful of ingredients. It's a spray. Plus, it works really well. I'd look into Cosmedix first because they make safe and effective products naturally. They are a little expensive but Amazon and Ebay have good deals.
I currently use Cosmedix Serious Protecton. I don't think that is what you are looking for because I imagine it contains silicone. I should also note that I have to use a moisturizer (Phytoclear) under Serious Protection.
Also, Snowberry SPF 15 or Josie Maran Argan Oil SPF could be good for you. Burnout and Devita were too drying for my sensitive skin a while back when I needed moisture. I'd avoid those initially.. |

Thanks a bunch for your reply Lightshox!
My skin is dehydrated but it is also very acne-prone , that's why I am trying to avoid sili-cones.
I have used Josie Moran at some point and it made me break out like never before.
Cosmedix Reflect sounds like a good option, and I like the idea of Snowberry- I have never heard of this one before.
Just in case these still dry me up, do you know any organic moisturizer(without SPF) that would moisturize without breaking me out?
Thank you. |

I am also acne prone. I e-mailed Snowberry and they did say even though it isn't advertised for acne prone skin, it can be used to treat inflammation. I love the ingredients in it!
Now, I know my money is tight these days. I don't work a high paying job but sometimes I splurge on skincare, it's just me.
I loovvvee Pevonia's Reactive Skin Cream. It is light, fluffy, and oh sooo good for skin. It smells good and a little jar has lasted me well over two months of nightly use (ebay or amazon). I also know that Pevonia makes oily skin cream and sensitive skin cream.
If you want to attack that acne I'd try the oily skin cream but if you wanna soothe your skin you could also consider the sensitive skin cream. Just study the ingredients and see if they'll serve your skin needs. I use a retinoid at night and my skin loves shea butter so I stick with the reactive cream.
Eminence also makes good moisturizers for every skin type, all natural, hand made.
Also, I think the main reason I had such bad dry skin was b/c my shampoo was causing my scalp to dry out. I know that may not be your issue but It was baaad. Just keep in mind that dry skin is a layered problem. Try and attack it from every angle, carefully, and you will be fine. Don't give up. FIGHT! |

Just wanted to share my experiences with skincare as well. I am an esthetician and have the same problems with skin care. I would reccommend finding a good moisturiser i personally like Dermologicas active moist, or the next level up skin smoothing cream. Then I would put on a mineral sunscreen makeup like Jane Iredale, its lightweight doesnt break you out and is spf 25, and is the best and eraaly good for your skin. Make sure you read the ingredients of any mineral makeup before you buy and make sure there is no bismuth oxychloride in it as this will irritate your skin and cause break outs. Jane Iredale doesnt contain it. These are just my two cents my skin cant tolerate silicones and chemical sunscreens always break me out. Good Luck! |

You might want to check out Devita. They have a new mineral makeup line and there is a whipped foundation as well as a tinted moisturizer I believe. I am not sure if the line is good for acne prone skin though. |
