Hi all, I just signed up. Partly due to reading some of the threads here, I decided to begin making my own moisturizer/serum/regimen. So far, the moisturizer/serum has got: tamanu and emu oils, matrixyl 3000 and glycerine, and is about to get niacinamide and caffeine added. It also has beer, which I used straight as a toner, too, because I'd read in several places that the yeast in the beer competes with the bacteria which causes acne, and prevents breakouts. For me, it caused a breakout; so the next batch won't have beer added. It had doubled as an emulsifier, so I'll have to find something else for that.
I'd really like to add a spin trap. None of the places I've found to purchase ingredients carries any. Does anyone know where I can get one? I've found lab supplies which probably sell huge amounts, but nothing retail. |

Not sure if you've considered adding a ready made product that already contains Spin Trap (PBN) to your serum such as this one that came up in google: http://www.skin-perfection.com/store/anti-aging-moisturizers/ultimate-night-moisturizer/
There's also Your Best Face who do an Antioxidants Concentrate meant for boosting creams and serums etc. (DIY or otherwise) with PBN and other actives. I've never tried it but here's a link on that one in case you are interested:
Ingredients: Reverse osmosis water, olivem (cetearyl olivate, sorbitan olivate), propylene glycol, ferulic acid, vitamin e, spin trap (phenyl butyl nitrone), Lipochroman-6 (dimethylmethoxy chromanol), sodium hyaluronate, paraben DU

I'm sure others will pop in with suggestions. Best of luck with your potions! |

This is going to sound like such a newb question, but ARE there actual spin trap antioxidants that are available in bulk?
I've read about the theory, but I don't know if any are actually available to home crafters. |
