For everyone who does their own "brews," is there a best pH meter? I bought one from Amazon, but it was useless. BulkActives and SkinEssentialActives both sell the same meter. Does anyone use this one or is there a better one out there? I mean, I'm sure there is, but all they're all $300!

This is one very good but then that's the only pH meter I have used.. I used pH strips before which was not very convenient:

Unless you are selling products retail (and in great quantities), you really don't need to spend hundreds of dollars on a pH meter.

I'm a real fan of the paper litmus pH strips for both ease of use, and no fuss clean up. I buy the 100/pk for $15.95 at lotioncrafter: http://www.lotioncrafter.com/ph-fix-indicator-strips.html

I agree with^

While strips are not quite as accurate, the price is right. And the only hazard you have to worry about is keeping them dry. Razz For most home crafters, being a half unit is as precise as you generally need.

in my experience, strips work for light colored products but if the product is dark colored like a brown or orange lotion etc , then strips are pretty useless.... it's hard to tell how much of the color change on the strips is due to the pH or the lotion leaving a stain on the strips... and if you are using a lot of herbs in your DIY, the end product is usually pretty dark...

Why spend 15 when you can spend 9-10 from Amazon
