I want to get my hormones tested. I live in Vancouver Canada and I went to see my GP who ordered blood testing for my hormones. I got it done but everything came out normal. I still think that my hormones feel off and I want a test to be done to test my estrogen, testosterone etc levels. Anyone know where I can get this done? I hear saliva is the most accurate measurement for hormone levels. I don't think that MSP coverage would work for these types of testing in Canada. Anyone know? thanks! |

My doctor who specializes in bio-identical hormones uses this place. I have also ordered from them directly and have been very pleased with the reports and interpretation that I received back.

You have to be careful with "normal" Normal levels for a 50 year old or normal levels for a 35 year old? As someone who is post menopausal, I want my hormone levels to be like a 35 year olds for optimal health.
If an eighty year old man asked the doctor for his testosterone results and was told he was normal it would probably mean he had NO testosterone for a normal person his age. Doesn't mean it's good for his health.
I believe hormones are the real fountain of youth. |

I've heard of hormone tests you can buy online. I believe they use saliva, annd you can use several over a period of time, since your hormones are always changing.
It would also depend why you want this test, and which hormones you are testing for. If its a fertility thing, go see a fertility doctor. Otherwise, see if your GP can refer you to an endocriniologist maybe? |
