I have been using the loose mineral foundation from this line for the last two weeks. I love it! It applies easily (as long as you remember not to use too much) and looks completely natural. I live in a very hot humid climate and this lasts all day without creasing or smearing. The colors are also very forgiving - I thought the color I got "satin" would be too dark but it blends beautifully. Wonderful stuff! C |

I also use Jane Iredale's 'satin' foundation, I've found it can be tricky to apply so I've ordered the pressed power version, Hopefully that will be easier. However the colour is good and my skin has improved because of the minerals so I think I'll stick with it. |

I would like to ask if I can apply the Jane Iredale's pressed powder alone? |

I do. I wear one or the other, but not both. I wear the Amazing Base (loose) in winder and the Pure Pressed Base in summer. I love them both, but I don't wear them both at the same time. |

I think it's no problem to use foundation alone. The fact is it looks very natural and blends in good with your skin color. |

I agree. I don't know which color matches me. |

melodymok, I got samples of several JI shades, in both the pressed and loose powder. It took a few *weeks* for me to figure out which was the best shade because I wanted to see how the loose and pressed looked in different lighting conditions, with different color clothes, after different levels of activity (some of them looked too pinkish or orangey on me by the end of the day). Going to a salon that sell JI is a good start, and many times they wil give you a few samples, so that you don't have to buy them. I bought my samples online or on eBay for the best deals. |

I've used Disappear - it's good for covering blemishes but I wouldn't use it for the undereye area as it would probably sink into lines or feel a bit dry. It's sort of a cream consistency, not really thick/heavy but not super liquidy either. It dries quickly and does offer opaque coverage which means that it's crucial to find a very close color match. I have medium light and although the shading is good for my light skintone it's definitely way too yellow. I also found it wasn't really good for my blemishes (as it claims to be), it's as good as my old Lancome concealer so if I wanted something to be more beneficial to my blemishes I rather use my MMU foundation as a concealer instead. |

Do you mean the Active Light concealer, for under eyes? I started using it a couple of months ago and I love it. Very glad that EDS carries it, because not all JI e-tailers have it (yet). |

I also use the JI MMU as a concealer. I find it works really well and covers my broken caps perfectly. I have been using JI loose for a couple of years and I love it. |

yeahyeah - i think the products are very similar, with the YSL being more on the peachy, glowy side. the jane iredale has a touch more coverage.
i think the JI is a tad more drying than that YSL. |

How do you use the JI MMU as a concealer? I have both the pressed and loose but I can still see blemishes through the makeup, am I applying it wrong?? Any suggestions?? |

I use JI Pressed Base and hardly ever use any creamy concealer anymore. For the areas around my eyes and the folds along my nostrils, I use a soft eyeshadow brush instead of the JI Handi brush (that I use for the rest of of my face). And for any spots that require more coverage (I have a broken cap that shows on the inside of a nostril, or if I have any acne), I rub a fingertip into the powder and press it on the spot. This gives me more coverage than any of the brushes can, and it's so easy. I'll be forever thankful to the friend who passed along this tip! |
