I've noticed that most mascaras I buy now seem to thicken quite quickly after I start using them.
I am considering "thinning" the tube by adding a few drops of eye drops or something.
Do you have a current favorite mascara?
Thanks, BFG |

Lash Exact Waterproof Mascara by Cover Girl.
It builds length nicely and a little bit of volume. It doesn't clump on my lashes and it stays on me all day. It's tough to remove at night and I need to rub some oil on my lashes to loosen it up.
It lasts me about 3 months and after that I notice it starts to dry out. I think it's a good time frame especially for the low price of about 8 USD.
I wonder if you put your closed mascara tube in a cup of hot water while you put the rest of your make up on - if that would thin it out a bit and make it more runny and easier to apply. |

Happens to me all the time, sometimes I clean off the brush with a baby wipe. I also just read to add a drop of water to the mascara.
Still searching for that perfect mascara... |

Cannot live without my Mirenesse (thanks Mabsy) but it does thicken quickly. But I just keep reordering and have used it for years. I can't add anything to it because it comes off with water in little tubes like Blinc. |

My favorite at the moment is a Japanese drugstore brand called Heroine Make - Kiss Me mascara.
Silly name, I know, but the Japanese are really into mascara. I like the curved brush on this one. Makes it easy to get the smaller lashes at the corner of the eye and the staying power is good! No panda eyes, smudging or flaking, but it is a little harder to remove. |

I like Blinc a lot, it doesn't run all day at all. It is a tubing mascara and you can remove it by rubbing your eyelashes very gently with warm water. I know some people find it a little gross but I have no problem with it. And it is so easy to remove for lazy people like me! I usually have to add a drop of rosehip oil (actually I think any kind of oil that doesn't irritate your eyes should potentially work) to the mascara after a while when it starts to thicken a little bit. And it is good as new again! I have dry skin but Maybelline smudges on me. I don't know why. I have heard a lot of good reviews on Kiss Me but I heard it is hard to remove as well... I might try it in the future. |

I wouldn't add water to mascara. Oil, yes, water no. Water can cause problems with the nasties. |
