Unless I missed it, it doesn't mention how many women participated in this clinical trial. http://origin.stemutone.com/document.pdf

Does this sound legit?

I just found this FDA warning letter to Greek Island Labs which did the Stemutone study. What do you make of it? http://www.fda.gov/ICECI/EnforcementActions/WarningLetters/2012/ucm318805.htm

Here is a negative review about the company which distributes Stemutone and other products. http://www.ripoffreport.com/medical-laboratories/greek-island-labs/greek-island-labs-adonia-legto-c456z.htm

your question: what do you think about the lab report?
I guess your next post answers the question really.
Glad you found the FDA and Ripoff report with the horrid info about the product/company.
But you know it's interesting how the highly popular ingredients the FDA questioned as problematic were items that I've seen touted and marketed in other products essentially the same way e.g. lavender=antibacterial; calming effect of *chamomile* etc etc. Wonder how the DIY sellers get to sell their stuff w/o similar scrutiny. By the way, I never heard of Stemutone. But glad I read your 2nd post.

Did you notice how the Conclusions of the analysis don't match-up with (and far exceed) the Title, Objectives, Standards for Inclusion in the Study (point a), or the Statistical Source Data? Number of subjects was not noted in the report (but should have been). Photos were evaluated, not the subjects themselves (which can be problematic). There was no control group. The improvement parameters were not defined. Even though the results are statistically significant, it doesn't state whether they are clinically significant.

The analysis basically concludes that Stemutone is a decent moisturiser; nothing more. The final conclusion of the analysis is not supported by the study. The advertising for the product by Greek Island Island Labs goes far beyond the findings of this report.

Does anyone have a complete ingredients list for this product? All I can find is a list of highlighted ingredients.

I've heard of the Athena 7 Minute Lift product and it does not have a good reputation - it is widely considered to be a scam.

The name Stemutone implies the use of stem-cell technology, but there seems to be no mention of it. I'd say they were just trying to cash in on the stem-cell "buzz". Personally, I would have nothing to do with a company that is associated with Athena 7 Minute Lift.

I really wanted this stuff to work!

Makes me suspect testimony provided by users was paid for or wishful thinking like with most things. No one has just used it on one arm or one side of their body so they could really make a good comparison.

I tried it after reading the best "body lotion thread" (see link above in hannah's post) when several veteran members of the board had positive results.

I have to say I absolutely love it. I use it on my face, neck, chest and hands only as it is expensive (for me). It moisturizes deeply. Also, it has a very light sheen to it which is also very flattering on my skin. I also do like the ingredient list.

I was concerned about that as well, but I have had no issues so far. My skin is very dry and sensitive. What surprised me about Stemutone is that I thought it would have a very strong smell given the ingredient list, but the smell (to me) is very faint.

This feels like a lot of hype. And if it feels like it it probably is. I'd stay away,

I think that is the "secret." Like a concealer I use that has sheen to it, it reflects light away so you don't notice the wrinkles as much. Which is fine but I think you could get that effect much more cheaply without all the expensive ingredients.

$40 for six ounces when I use on my face/hands is not expensive, and believe me I am on a budget. Beyond the sheen, it does moisturize deeply. My skin is super dry and this works for me. I don't have crepey skin, so I can't comment on that.

And I agree, the study/website etc are all cheesy and feels like a used car sales pitch. But as I said, I tried because veteran EDSers that I trust had good results as well. Those are the opinions I trust. The last I will say about this is that I do like it very much and will repurchase

I don't have dry skin. I use Paula's Choice AHA lotion to make it smooth. Thank God that is cheap!

I have to agree with erg on this one. I tried it because of some of the rave reviews here. I never expected much (I don't buy into the plant stem cell hype), but I was intrigued by all the oils in the ingredients. I like this product a lot. It has a nice light fragrance and is surprisingly moisturizing without being greasy. It got me through the winter with very little flaking. I've repurchased twice. The marketing is terrible and it probably is grossly over-priced, but when I find things I really like I tend to stick with them.

I have been using this almost a year and do really like it. I bought my first tube off eBay and then started ordering it off of one of the sites where I could buy it in bulk for a better price and I split it with friends. As long as I use it my skin looks great but if I stop it doesn't look as good....so I am hooked Wink
