I read that silicone is supposed to be good for arteries and joints in terms of stability. Now my question is, if I start taking silicone and then it is built into the body tissue and then I stop taking it would the result of this be worse then not taking it at all? Does this mean once you start you have to continue forever? This would be a bit scary. |

Just an fyi that it is silicon, and not silicone (we wouldn't want you looking like Pamela Anderson!)
Sis has taken it for some time, so hopefully she can weigh in for you. |

I just started taking Biosil 2 weeks ago. I never thought about your question! I would think though it would be like any supplement, you can stop and you would lose the benefits, but I would not think you would be worse off than before you started? |

I agree with Rileygirl! And, just FYI, I'm not sure if I have noticed any benefits to my skin, but my hair is growing like mad |

How long have you been taking it, snowymtn, before you noticed your hair growing? |

Just about 3 weeks I think. The problem is it's all hair including legs! |

My hair DID stop falling out, and it grew probably 3x faster. But I REALLY could have done without the bonus nose hair! |

I am just thinking there is a reason I never jumped on that supplement, post menopausal and I might grow a full beard and moustache instead of the stray wild hairs that I have so much fun plucking! Just you younger ones wait! LOL |

I have been noticing the last several days how I do not have dry skin on my legs or arms any longer. The only thing that has changed in my body care has been the addition of the Biosil. So, at least for me it seems to be keeping my skin moist. This is great, as I suffer from dry skin horribly or I used to! |

Long time not talk EDS!
I have not been on EDS in forever because I pretty much gave up on trying to cure my acne but I had to come back and give an update just in case my experience can help someone!
I was in GNC the other day and the woman working there is going to school to be a naturopath. I asked her what she recommended for hair since mine has been falling out like crazy. She said MSM & liquid Biosil.
I haven't started the MSM but I did start the Biosil and have had the most significant change in the clarity of my skin! It's so weird that I almost don't believe it. I don't understand how/why silicon was the missing link but I'm so thankful that I stumbled upon it.
I know it's the Biosil because I convinced my sister to buy some before I did and she let me borrow it for a week before I took the plunge. A few days after that week was over my husband looked at me and said "don't take this the wrong way but I think you need to go buy some of that stuff". There have been no other changes in my daily routine.
I'm beyond thrilled and hope that telling everyone won't somehow jinx the unreal results I have had so far. If I had a Clarisonicnic and the money to get Environ facials every week I think I probably wouldn't be able to recognize myself!
Oh and I would say the clumps of hair I lose have been reduced by about 75% within the first week and a half of starting back up. But I'm SO excited about my skin that I don't really care about my hair anymore .
(Just as a disclaimer- Supplements I take on a daily basis that have had no visible effect, positive or negative,on my skin:
Multi- Vitamin
Vitamin C
B Complex
Omega Complex
Calcium
Chromium Polynicotinate
& all my skincare is by Environ) |

Sundew, that's interesting!
I need to be more diligent about taking it then! The foul taste deters me sometimes so I skip it
Thanks for posting your experience.
One thing, it comes in a pill form and also the liquid, somewhere I read that the liquid is more effective, but I think I could stomach the pills better...does anyone know if there's any truth to the liquid being better?

I personally wouldn't think there would be any difference, other than the liquid would probably absorb quicker/better. |

More than happy too Snowymtn!
The lady at GNC told me that the liquid was much more effective; so much so she sent me to a different vitamin shop (GNC doesn't carry the liquid form).
And the taste is NASTY. I was taking it with OJ and it didn't really help mask the taste. However, I switched to lime concentrate and add just a little to a small 8oz glass of water and I haven't gagged since! I'd imagine strong lemon water would work too.
I take it in the morning before I make breakfast and at night before I go to bed.

I've been taking Biosil for some time but have not had any skin improvement
Maybe it made my hair grow faster because my regular stylist asked me wth I was doing that my hair grew so fast and then only thing that changed was taking BioSil AND GNC hair, nails thing. So it could have been either. I wanted him to comment on how my hair was thicker but he didn't so since I didn't notice anything and he didn't either... I guess my hair is thin as usual |

Do you use it twice a day, Josee? I did for the first 2 weeks, but I got lazy and cut down to once a day. Other than it relieving my dry skin, I haven't noticed anything as of yet. |
