Hi
I'm really confused about what type of oil I should use going forward. I've always considered my skin oily, but was recently informed by a girl at the MAC that my skin was dry
What oils should I use? Olive Oil? Mineral Oil? I think I want to try castor oil and sunflower oil. According to oilmeup .com jojoba oil has a lot of benefits. Can I add jojoba oil to the mix? how much? |

Most people recommend starting out with olive oil and castor oil.
I've got normal/oily skim and found the olive oil made it too oily. And I found that too much of the castor oil dried me out to the point of horrible flaking.
Now I alternate between different oils (not oo!) but keep the castor oil (the one that you probably should incorporate since it is the workhorse which draws out impurities from your skin) to a minimum. I use about 20% or so.
I'd say just get some castor oil and try the oils that you already have on hand first. I haven't heard of people using mineral oil.
There's a big thread on ocm somewhere here with loads of recommendations and people's experiences... which I can't find right now. You should probably read up on ocm if you haven't yet.. some people experience an initial "purging" stage which breaks them out, and puts them off of it. Mine was minimal.
You might also want to read up on oily vs dry skins... sometimes skin can be kind of parched from the inside, with oiliness on the top just as a means of protecting itself from environment or products. Changing your diet may help, and using oils instead of cleansers will probably benefit too.
Good luck! |

I have oily skin and use lavender oil scented jojoba oil(I don't like the scent of the castor oil) and of course, castor oil.I use approx. 80% jojoba to 20% castor oil. |
