Scar removal on arms

I have a deep scar on my arm resulting from a cut I got about 10 years ago. It looks just like a self-harm scar (it isn't one) and it annoys me all the time. I've been looking into using copper peptides and single needling and was wondering if anybody can recommend a good routine for reduction/removal of the scar? It's white and neither raised nor indented. Will I need Retin A or vitamin c or anything?

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

raw avocado internally and externally.
day 1-2 massage for 15-30 minutes with castor oil(warm)
day 3-4 the same with wheat germ oil
day 5-6 the with olive oil
day 7 relax Wink

Again the same procedure.

Also:use a microdermabrasion cloth to exfoliate the scar.Then use lugol's iodine(2%).When you see the skin being shedded after a while,cover the area with a paste of aloe vera and slippery elm bark powder. Cover with bandaid.

Thanks, panoslydios! I once cut my hand on a glass while doing the dishes and i massaged the area daily while scar formation was going on. You can barely see it now. I've been massaging this arm scar, too, but it's too old (about 10 years) and I see no improvement.

I was hoping for some of the dermaroller/single needle and copper peptides people to chime in. From the research I did that seemed like the best way to go. Anyone?

if you can afford it, go for laser scar removal... if not then pls visit owndoc.com they tell you there how to lesson scars using needling n rolling...

daler, that's interesting. What kind of laser scar removal do you suggest? I've never heard of any laser that actually works.

I have not used any so cant tell from my personal experience but there r different laser for different types of scars.. there is one to take out redness, then there is one to break the scar tissue... may be u should visit a local cosmetic surgeon for a consultation, i would suggest to stay away from the spas & salons that offer lasers....

Thank you, daler. As far as I know lasers don't really work as well as single needling and dermarolling but I'll look into it again. I would definitely prefer going to a surgeon than poking myself with needles.

Hi CookieD, thanks for the link. When you used the dermaroller/dermapen did you use retin a, vitamin c, and copper peptides too?

I used Environ products for my Vit A & C while rolling. Though I don't use them anymore. I've also used copper peptides but not when I was rolling.

Cookie D, did you use skin biology's copper peptides?
I've heard that rolling/needling makes no sense if copper peptides aren't used. did you still have good results even without CPs?

I did have good results without using copper peptides. I have nothing against them and have bought different ones from Skin Biology. I just used them off and on for years and never really saw any difference in my skin good or bad. This is not during needling though. They are suppose to help with skin remodeling. I just don't think they are essential.

Overall I think copper peptides are a mixed bag. Some people love them. Others say they ruined their skin. Nothing works for everyone but these products seem to have more issues then most.

Hi CookieD, yeah, I'm aware of the unpredictability of copper peptides. It's why I never used them on my face. On my arm, however, I figured it won't be so bad as the area is mostly hidden. If you had good results without them, though, I think I'll try and see what happens without using them.
If you don't mind me asking, where were the scars you treated? And how much reduction did you achieve?

Not much luck on the lasers so far. I looked into it again but there really isn't much that can be done for scar removal. Sad

I treated a old spider bite on the side of my knee. It looked like a bigger chicken pox scar you get. It was indented and my skin was a very noticeable different color on that spot.

After 3 treatments the spot is much more skin toned and not indented all.

I also treated a line scar on my upper cheek bone. I can still see it but it has receded some and isn't as raised up as it once was.

It would probably be ok to use CP on your arm. The skin there is a little tougher then the face.

I did 6 treatments total about 4 or 5 weeks apart. I used prescription Retin A and mad hippie Vit. C. leading up to the roll. The night of the roll I used Environ products and continued with them for a week or 2 afterwards. I also use another retinol serum sometimes. I like to change things up so the skin doesn't get use to a product.
