in addition, my nose is getting this weird slight redness/thickness look to it

not sure if it's the beginning of rosacea or what
my dad has mild rosacea on his nose

but last time i went to the dermatologist, my nose was actually completely clear/not red/and not thick
so he said i definitely don't have rosacea. Apparently some new research came out that many cases of rosacea are caused by some type of mite (dermadex or something, forgot the name)

over the past few years my nose pores have been getting quite large as well. I use a tea tree oil face wash (Trader Joe's) twice a day, an exfoliator (baking soda or salycilic acid scrub) 2 times a week, sunscreen pretty much daily and recently have been experimenting with apple cider vinegar/witch hazel toners. I also sometimes use clindamycin phosphate gel for acne or benzoyl peroxide (epiduo).
I've had to use my mom's shiseido 42 spf liquid foundation a bit on my nose as well as it seemed to mask the pores and the redness a bit.

I don't really have acne anymore, although m nose seems inflamed but it doesnt look like acne.
I just saw a skincare specialist for dermarolling, and she gave me a few samples of IS clinical's Active Serum. She didnt seem to know too much either. When I asked her what was in this sample, she couldnt answer, but I'm trying it out on my skin nightly now to see if it helps. I'm using a .3mm dermaroller twice a week. Not sure if i should try it on my nose or what.

Any advice on what I this rosacea like thing could be and how to shrink my pores would be appreciated.

Also, even though I'm straight, I don't mind using a little makeup, so you can recomment stuff to use on my nose also.
not really knowledgeable on makeup, but i guess there's coverup, foundation, and bb cream?

Thanks a lot!
I'll be checking this very often
so if you need pics to give better advice, i'll provide pics.

The redness might be due to your regime being too intrusive or harsh.

How about trying clarisonic and or oil cleansing. Both helped my pores to disapear.

But as for large pores on the nose..you may not be able to "get rid" of them, just to keep them minimised and clean.

Yep, I'd try oil cleansing. And I'm of the opinion that baking soda is too harsh. Maybe try gentle use of a micro-fibre cloth instead.

About large pores... keeping them clean is the best you can do. Over time they'll appear smaller - that's what's happened to me.

And simply buffing powder in really well works amazingly at masking large pores.

the redness is not from my routine
i started getting it before i started using too many harsh products

i actually only use like 3 things mainly

tea tree oil face wash, scrub, and sunscreen during the day

does anyone know anything about the active IS clinical serum?

I've used IS clinical's active serum. It's pretty strong as it has a blend of acids in it. Supposed to help acne.

Also, there are some reviews here:

If you think it's demodex, you might try Demodex Solutions' creams. They worked absolute wonders for a friend of mine. Expensive though.

You could get a skin scraping at the dermatologist.

Supposedly everyone has these, but for some people they can cause problems.

immacolata?
a skin scraping?

thanks, i'll try to get that right away
im going away to college in a few days so i'm kind of desperate now

dermarolling makes my face look radiant the next day, but then for a few days after it makes it look more irritated and the scars worse even

and i got ripped off by the skincare specialist who sold me the .3mm dermaroller and a dermaquest collagen repair serum for a total of 250 dollars.

seems like a .3mm won't be enough for facial scars
and that it's causing more irritation than good

she did give me a sample of IS clinical active serum, which I'm using on my nose to try to unclog pores/reduce pore size and redness, which im not sure it will do since it contains alcohol i think

it has very good reviews on this website, however

i'm only 18, so this may not be wise, but I'm desperate

Does anyone know anything else about this demodex mite thing?

any responses about anything would be appreciated !
thanks

FYI that tea tree oil can irritate many people's skin...I just read that in a dermatologist's book. I would try switching cleansers and see if that helps with the redness.
