Hi all. Have any of you DIY mixers ever mixed Vitamin C with Alpha Lipoic Acid. I've read that ALA recycles Vitamin C in the body and they work well together but I'm not sure if this would work on the skin. I buy ALA in a gel cap form that is liquid inside so it can be mixed with the Vit C. I mix my Vitamin C once a week to keep it fresh and use CeraVe as a base cream but am thinking of adding the ALA. Whatcha' all think of this idea. |

ALA + vit C is a great combination. I mix it from the powder form tho in my serum, so Im not sure how the gel cap contents would mix with the vit c/cerave combination.
But you could try it! |

I do mix ALA with Vita C but the oil soluble one, tetra C, I am not sure how it ll react with the v acidic ascorbic acid n how both ll effect ur skin.
Also ALA is oil soluble n ascorbic acid is water soluble. |

btw, ascorbic acid needs to be in acidic environment, below pH 3 or so... when you mix it with cerave, the pH may not be as low; have u ever checked the pH?
I would mix ascorbic acid in distilled water, apply and top it off with cerave after 15 minutes or so... |

I haven't checked the CeraVe's pH but will do that. I like CeraVe just as a general cream. It used to be like $6 dollars but now it's $15. Bummer! |
