Hi there,
For those Asian Chinese out here in the forum who have tried Bare Escentual Loose Foundation........
I am thinking of ordering the Loose Foundation, but can't decide on which color suits me best. Can you gals please let me know which color are you using and your skin tone color?
I am an asian chinese with fair medium skin tone. Currently using SKII two-way foundation no. 1, so can you gals please recommend a color that would suits my skin tone. I do not like too redish tone. i am looking at #2 Light , #2.3 medium beige and #3 medium. Can't decide.
TIA |

It sounds to me like #2 might be your choice. Have a look at http://www.dtnorth.com/images/Colors%20--%20Bisque%20and%20Foundations%20new.jpg and see if that helps you decide.
I bought the BE starter kit that came with fairly light #1.2 and light #2. I'm very fair so even 1.2 was too dark for me. But I gave my #2 to a friend of mine (she's has a fair Asian complexion) and it's a perect match for her. |

skinlover,
I second Mabsy,
most popular colors for Asian skin are fairly light #1.2 and light #2. As you can notice on Mabsy's picture #2 has little bit more yellow. You can also always play and mix with mineral veil to achive desired , custom color. |

Hi there,
I am also Asian and have been using BE for several years now. I started out using #3 and #2 (not sure which one was best). #2 was too light, and #3 was too dark -- both made my skin look like it was artificial (artificial color anyway). I ended up mixing the two together and got the perfect shade -- and afterwards, I just ended up buying #2.3 (medium beige) which works perfectly (can't tell there's a foundation on your skin).
If you are a pale Asian, then #2 is probably ideal. My skin tone is probably the average color -- not pale and not tanned like most Caucasians.
If you're looking for colors, I would suggest buying a Bare Escentuals kit online. They're about $60 and you get the mineral veil, 3 brushes (BE brushes usually cost $25 RETAIL EACH), and 2 shades of the foundation so you can play with them and see which one works best. You can also try EBAY -- lots of people sell samples on the site there. The other alternative is to call one of the BE boutiques in California and tell them to send you some free samples to try. All you'll need is a little bit to see which works best with your skin tone.
Another trick, if you buy something too light for your skin, is to mix it with WARMTH -- it'll warm up the color a bit to match your skin.
Hope this helps,
Lisa |
