Hello all:

Can anyone recommend a good bottom facial exercise to slim those bottom jowls? I'd really like to hear from you if you have proven results.

Thanks so much if you can help!

I don't have personal experience in this but hope you don't mind me chiming in.

Since lower face widening is due to the sag that comes with aging, I believe any complete facial workout (not spot training) will lift the face so it goes back to not being wide in the lower half. A perfect example of this cand be seenin Elaine's face (Founder of Faceworks, UK)

This was her face at 45--notice the beginning of jowls:

Image

And here she was still at 45 years old, but was 4 weeks into her program--jowls look better than 4 weeks before but her face still looks somewhat wide in the lower part, making her jaw look squarish:

And this is Elaine at 52, 7 years from when she started her program--lower face looks narrower than upper even with the slight smile:

Here are more photos of Elaine that show her narrower lower face from an old post:

When I posted photos of Elaine Bartlett (Faceworks UK) upthread, I realized they were not recent but they were all I could find. Anyway, I contacted her to ask if she had any recent photos and told her about this thread so she would know what I was going to use them for. Today she sent me her up-to-date photos to post and gave me her permission to paste her email in this thread, so here goes:

Hi Noni,

Thanks for your interest in Faceworks – I am familiar with the forum on essential day spa from a while ago when I was trying to find out if anyone else had a face exercise program online.

The black and white photo you posted previously is from 2009 of my cousin Phil Collen and I (he’s in Def Leppard), taken by rock photographer Ash Newell. It was taken backstage in Dublin, so no studio lighting or special set up.

I have attached some ‘selfies’ taken just now. I am working from home today so it’s definitely a low maintenance day: a scrap of mascara and eyeliner, and no foundation as you can see from my freckles. The third shot shows how much of my skin I can pinch: the depth of the muscle has increased quite a lot since I developed Faceworks in 2006.

I’m 53 now and I’ve been doing Faceworks 3-4 times a week for 7 years. I aim to look good for my age, I don’t want or expect to look 25. People tend to guess my age at about 45, though last weekend someone thought I was my daughter (she’s 22) which is a bit of a stretch of the imagination! I notice that there was a mention of BMI in some of the posts: I’m a size 8-10 and my face has always been rounded.

Even with facial exercise, the skin will continue to age, although more slowly. The menopause does have an impact too, often suddenly: becoming dryer and less elastic almost overnight. I get quite a few e-mails from ladies who tell me their face has literally collapsed because of the change in hormones. I have found there is a marked loss of elasticity in the skin during menopause: having good nutrition and a reliable moisturiser is vital. We are constantly trying to find true ‘miracle’ creams and are testing MitoQ at present http://www.mitoq.com/ for our members – results will appear on our Blog in a couple of weeks.

I’m happy for you to copy and post this e-mail, and if anyone wants to contact us, or me, you can e-mail us at helpdesk@faceworks.co.uk or go to the website at www.faceworks.co.uk

Kind Regards,

You can see the same lift happened in Carolyn of CFF--first image was she at 53 before face exercises (notice how her face seems to have moved downward so it looks wide):

And then here she is at 60, with no jowls and lower face looks narrower:

And if you want to see her at 67. you can see her segment at 0:31 in the video below where her face looks the most toned and lifted it has ever looked since starting CFF, IMO and that wide jowly lower face is history:

Facial exercise works! Different programs appear to work better for some than others but in the end - it's the results that make us happy. Every time I see pictures of facial exercise results I am amazed at the success that can be achieved.
