Hey everyone, I am desperate for suggestions to normalize my skin. Lately it is reactive to everything I do. It stings and burns no matter what I put on it, and this is with my regular products I've been using for quite awhile. I haven't done anything new. It stings with my Dr. Bronner's cleanser which I normally love, and when I tone with apple cider vinegar (which I normally use daily with success). It burns when I apply moisturizer.... I am at my wit's end!
Can anyone suggest some neutral, not too-expensive products to calm my skin down? And clues as to why this is happening? My diet hasn't been great and I had to take several courses of antibiotics this winter....could there be a connection there? Thank you!!
*Just wanted to add I have sensitive, sun damaged skin, and have been wearing Solar Sciences SPF 50 Creme daily. (This is the one thing that doesn't burn when I apply) |

CeraVe cream or lotion is a neutral moisturizer that you can pick up at a drug store and is good for barrier repair. Another suggestion would be Emu oil as it is a healing oil. I like the one from Skin Biology because it has added vit.E. You can purchase this oil from EDS.
Avene thermal water is very soothing to spritz on your face and Avene has soothing creams such as Cicalfate restorative cream which might be helpful.
I agree with Jom to ditch the ACV and use a cleanser like Cetaphil or CeraVe has a couple of good ones that are gentle. |

Thank you both for your suggestions. I totally agree that I need to to lay off the ACV...I dont know why I didn't realize it sooner! I started it in the summer, and I now see I should've stopped when the seasons changed, and not use it daily for sure. I think I was thinking it was natural and restored ph, etc, but now I see it is the culprit.
I am very interested in the Avene thermal water. I have seen an Evian Facial water at Ulta, I might look into that.
Think I will pick up the CeraVe today..probably the night cream, because I try to use all-physical sunscreen during the day, and I don't *think* the sunscreen is causing any issues.
This is a bummer, because I just bought a Vitamin C serum, and I suspect my skin is too reactive to use it right now. |

I purchased the CeraVe PM and used it last night. It felt really nice! Has anyone used the PM lotion as a day lotion, under sunscreen? |

I'm glad the CeraVe is working for you lnb, hopefully you'll be able to use your vit.c serum before too long. I'm sure the p.m lotion would be fine as a day lotion under sunscreen. |
