Is there a list of sun sensitive actives and ingredients somewhere?
It seems like common knowledge that Retin a must only be used in the dark, but what about other things?
Rosehip seed oil should not be used during the day, but could you still use it with an hour waiting before sunscreen?
Does anyone know of other actives or oils that are a bad idea to use during the day?(obviously by this I mean under and before sunscreen, not as sunscreen) |

Hey there!
I think this might help:
Despite the fact that the table is by no means comprehensive but it does provide you with a quick overview of some of the different products. Any time we use something for acne treatment or skin lightening it may contain ingredients that might increase sun sensitivity |

That's a good list.
I am guessing that with L Ascorbic Acid and Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate it is generally thought of as ok to use in the morning, providing you use sunscreen after.
I suppose some are just ineffective with sun light? But some produce negative effects when exposed to sun?
I am a bit disappointed that sites like mountainroseherbs and gardenofwisdom do not mention carrier oils that are sun sensitive. It seems like something that would be of interest to people. |
