hello ladies,
i just recently used a derma roller for the first time. the question that i have is, what other things can i use to clean it? i actually read that alcohol isn't the best way to clean it and it's recommended to use denture tablets because those contain enzyme cleansers that remove oils as well as bacteria. i do not have those on hand. i used soap and warm water. i am not sure if that's effective enough. i am against using alcohol of any kind because i have ultra sensitive skin and don't trust it. boling it is also not an option because that can erode the needles at a faster rate. any suggestions?

"Cleaning Your MTS Dermal Roller™
You may use denture tablets (in water) to clean the MTS Roller™. Denture tablets(i.e. Efferdent) contain enzyme cleansers which remove oils as well as reduce bacteria. In a paper or styrofoam cup (never use glass or ceramic--they're too hard on the fine needles), use a half of denture tablet mixed with water, gently insert your roller and allow it to soak for 15-30 minutes. Rinse with water and allow to air dry."

However, along with my MTS roller came a bottle of "MTS Roller Cleaner" which is just 99% isopropyl alcohol, and the instructions are to brush the roller in lukewarm water with the brush provided, then roll on the sponge pad (provided) soaked with the alcohol, then rinse and let dry. |

If you can't use alcohol to clean your needling device because of your sensitive skin, what do you put on the face after washing to clean it?
Most people use rubbing alcohol on the face after cleansing.
I hope you are using very short needles! |

| You are rinsing the alcohol off in warm water and letting it dry thoroughly before using it. Any alcohol quickly evaporates dont forget! |

| Hi! I just want to know if derma roller is recommended for ice-pick acne scars? My dermatologist suggested that I may use dermaroller. But it is quite expensive. So, I want to ask someone who have tried this and how effective it was. Please, help. Thank you! |

Single-needling instructions
Dense needling for
stretchmarks and scars
You need many more pricks than with acne scars, depending on how wide and long the scar is. The idea is
to get many more pricks in, per surface area, than a dermaroller can - and also deeper. The purpose is to
break old scar tissue and remove damaged collagen. This dense needling is called
"needle abrasion"
.
Don't forget to needle the edges of the scar - go a little outside of the borders of the
scar.
You can try to needle-abrade even raised scars but do a test first because the results with raised scars are
more unpredictable. This technique should only be used on already scarred skin, and then the effect will be
beneficial. It is a slow process but you can work on your scars whenever you have the time.
Make very many pricks per square cm / inch - just be sure not to prick the same skin more than once a
month.
It should not take more than a twenty seconds per centimeter or a minute per inch (of stretch
mark/scar) when you're proficient. Don't forget to stretch the skin!
After a while you'll be able to do it quite quickly.
