Ok, this is a rant about skin1.com and I'm not sure if this is allowed on this board but I have to get if off my chest.

I ordered 2 orders from skin1.com and I received an email from them that they need a copy of my credit card billing statement because my card is an international credit card and they need to verify the billings address.

I emailed them saying that I will send a copy via fax because I don't like the idea of a soft copy being available to businesses or people that I don't know of.

Instead, I asked them for a fax number. I didn't hear from them for a week so I emailed them again yesterday and still no reply. In the mean time, I found out that they went ahead and charged my credit card while still withholding goods. I find it unfair and unethical that they charged my account for both orders before they have even "verified" my billing address and yet could not even be bothered to respond to my requests.

I was not happy about this so I finally emailed them a copy of my credit card statement which I would have preferred to have faxed. I thought of cancelling my orders but I know I will not get back the original exchange rate amount so I would be at a loss. It p*sses me off that they charged my card but wouldn't even respond to my request that I emailed twice. I let them know that I was not happy in the email I sent them. I'll see if they will finally send the goods or not.

Has anyone with an international card experienced this "verifying" billing address before? Also, has anyone had dealings with skin1.com as well? The customer service seemed limited. Thanks for listening!

Actually, I realized that I am now entering the 3rd week into this issue. If they weren't going to respond to me, shouldn't they have cancelled or reversed the order by now?

I've never had anyone insist on "verifying" my billing address before whether purchasing goods in the US or overseas. Seems a bit strange that they are requesting that from you as I was under the impression that it is something that Visa (or whatever card you have) should be able to confirm for them: http://www.visa.ca/en/personal/securewithvisa/avs.jsp

Are you able to contact your credit card company and ask them to reverse the charges?
