So every time I wear makeup I find myself with 2 major problems:
1. How to reapply sunscreen without ruining my makeup.
2. How to moisture when you feel dryness and not end up looking like a Picasso...
Any tricks? Thanks. |

Lion, I found that most of the zinc/titanium SSs were drying me out. Or else the silicone bases they used were giving me cystic acne.
I switched to European Tinosorb SSs (I use Uriage Bariesun Childrens because it doesnt cause me to break out in cysts and its stable protection) and use that as my moisturizer/SS. Then I apply a mineral makeup powder like glominerals pressed base over it and buff it in well so its not cakey. I reapply the MMU thru the day if I need more protection. |

I pat on pressed mineral powder to refresh the SPF. |

Lion: what sunscreen are you using?
I like to use La Roche Posay Hydraphase UV 30 (Cdn) especially in the winter. It is moisturizing and has sort of a dewy look.
I have switched to PC Resist Light spf 30 for the summer. It is lightly tinted and more a matt finish.
I like to top my sunscreen with mineral makeup. There is also translucent powders that contain sunscreen (zinc and titanium dioxide)that you can apply as "a top up". |

Thanks everyone. Autumn1995, I have tried different sunscreens, right now I'm using Josie Maran (I'm looking for another one containing more zinc %, although it is one of the most hydrating sunscreens I've come across). But whenever I apply makeup powder, my skin becomes dry and I can see fine lines that I don't have when I'm not wearing makeup. So I guess it is because the powder dries out my skin... So how do I apply moisturiser on top of my makeup without ruining it? |

What powder makeup are you using?
Have you tried spraying mineral water (Evian, La Roche Posay, Avene, etc.) mid day? It takes the powdery look off your face.
Another suggestion is hydrosols. |

I'm using Bare minerals, I'm really happy with it. Any powder will make my face dry...
Yeah I've tried spraying roses and grape water, etc. buy they don't really work. Right now what best works for me is tapping a moisturizer cream on top of makeup (not rubbing) to avoid a mess.
I haven't tried hydrosols nor mists (I read John Masters Organics has some interesting ones). I guess I'll have to! |
