Hi EDSers,

After months of research I recently ordered a few different high zinc facial sunscreens to try (The only one I've tried so far is Burnout Kids and I find it too greasy/heavy) but I'm going on holiday soon and want something a bit different for my body, for when I'm on the beach etc. I think I'm probably asking to much here but does anybody know of a sunscreen with the following properties?

- High zinc (although for my body I'm not too bothered if it has some TIO2)

- A nice, typical sunscreen-type smell, like coconut, vanilla etc (one thing I think I'm going to miss out on now that I've switched to physical SS is the strong sunscreen smell that I associate with sunny holidays - something I'd hate in a daily facial sunscreen).

- Not a hugely greasy texture (although it doesn't have to be matte in the way I'd like a facial SS to be)

- Not too expensive

After reading a couple good reviews on here and elsewhere I was excited to try Banana Boat Natural Reflect physical SS until I realised it has a really low % of zinc and TIO2, and that it's fragrance free so won't have the lovely smell of other BB sun products I've used in the past.

The other thing I'm concerned about is that it's one thing rubbing a thick cream into your face (which I do find a little bit of a chore with the Burnout and I'm guessing no physical SS has a thin consistency) but to have to rub it over my entire body... ugh. I'm starting to wonder if I might be better off buying a decent, photostable chemical SS for my body.

How do other people solve this dilemma (I don't mean the one about the smell as it's probably just me with that preference!)? Do any other regular physical SS users switch to chemical for beach holidays, can anybody recommend one or is this a bad idea?

FYI, I'm in the UK but can order from US even if the company doesn't ship outside of US (A potentially helpful tip for people in the UK or anywhere outside of the US who have trouble finding products is to open a mail forwarding account. The postage is still expensive but you can consolidate your parcels and it's worth it for me as I've been at my wits end trying to find decent physical sunscreens in the UK!)

Anyway, thank in advance for any suggestions Smile

You're not going to get that coconut scent unless you buy something like Coppertone or Hawaiian Tropic. The natural mineral brands probably tend to be more on the lavender scented side.

Pure mineral sunscreens will be greasy by nature. They are thick and heavy and natural brands will use oils like jojoba, sunflower or castor to suspend the ingredients.

You can check out Green Beaver, Mustela, Shiseido, Aveeno and John Masters for mineral based sunscreens.
