Hi,
Yesterday (Friday) I got restylane filler done for my under eyes.
I'm so swollen today. It looks as if I've been in a boxing ring. I have No bruise though.
Any of you experienced a lot of swelling from under eyes filler ?
What can I do to reduce de swelling ? I know ice is good within the first 24 hours, but after ? I also sleep my head hight up and I will do it tonight too.
Do I have any chances to be ok on Monday morning ?
I had fillers under my before didn't swell as much. It may because I got my check done as well. |

Have you been having Restylane injected into the undereye area before? I was told my my plastic surgeon to NEVER have Restylane injected underneath the eyes. It is not meant for the under eyes. It's only meant for the lower half of the face. Any PS who tells you differently, is not telling you the truth. Look it up if you'd like. Side effects of Restylane injected into tear trough areas! |

Ollie,
Actually I'm not sur it was Restylane. Because he used different products for my check bones and my under eyes.
I didn't really what was where as I've been seeing him for years.
Yes, I had fillers under my eyes before but as I remember it was a little less swollen. |

Boletero is best used for under eye area and sculptural or perlane is best for cheek area. restylane and Juvederm are not meant for under eyes. I used to have restylane for my mouth area and it worked well until the last time I had it done 2 years ago and I was over filled and it stretched my skin. so now I'm left with wrinkles in that area. I will never use fillers again! They are not natural, don't breakdown into your skin and are dangerous. REad some stories on Realself and you ll see how much dam ge they can cause. Be careful. |

Thank you for your concerns and information about fillers.
I was more looking for an answer about if Ice was still helpfull for the swelling more than 24 hours after or if if warm could help. As I did want to call my dermatologist urgency line for a matter of being worried that I would not be un swollen Monday to go to work. |

I've found that Dr. Irwin's web site and blog is a good source of info on fillers. You might find something useful here as she has readers who write for recommendations on various issues.

She does recommend Restylane for the eye hollows although acknowledges that it is not FDA approved in the US. |

ShastaGirl,
Thank you very much for sharing this website link.
Really appreciate and there is a lot of information. I will ad this to my favorite web sites.
By the way I was ok to go to work today without having people noticing I looked a little swollen. I was better than I had thought. |
