Hello All! Happy Halloween
With the season changing, so is my skin. The colder it gets, the more my skin tends to redden from the elements and the lack of heat in the air. Winter for me, means extra dryness.
Usually, at night, I use CeraVe. Lately, it doesn't seem to be cutting it for me in terms of its ability to properly moisturize. My skin is naturally on the dry/sensitive side and in the summer CeraVe works just fine!
Can anyone recommend a relatively inexpensive moisturizer to use at night, to heal and fortify my skin for the next day??? I am a guy and my skin tends to break out, so the less comedogenic, the better!
Sadly, I'm a student so I spend a lot of time walking around and outside. It's unavoidable. |

Aquaphor is always a cheap investment but it can break some out, although I am fine with it. It is heavier, but I do not use it every night, just every now and then when a heavy duty fix is needed. Best for night time use and a bit on a chapped nose!
On the next level try First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream, not heavy at all and soaks in very well. I use it day or night. You can also get a sample at Sephora but it is more expensive there.

I am a fan of oils as well and you can go to Garden of Wisdom and get some samples to try.

Hope this helps! |

Also, there are effective natural remedies for dry skin. These include sugar Scrubs, Lavender,Coconut oil,Spinach and many other. |

Try applying Vaseline over your moisturizer at night. This really works for me. |

Find moisturizers which is best for your skin. I recently attended a seminar about skin care and one of the speaker from fitgrabber mentioned about this. The moisturizer that's best for you depends on many factors, including your skin type, your age and whether you have specific conditions, such as acne. If a moisturizer you use doesn't provide you results, that moisturizer probably doesn't fit the need of your skin. Try Olay skin moisturizer or garnier. |

Are you affiliated with Fit Grabber?
I disagree with your suggestions. Certainly not suitable for anyone with sensitive skin and or acne prone. |

Cetaphil cream or First Aid Beauty ultra repair cream are inexpensive, but they work fine. |

Before I was using Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizer but since it's quite expensive I shifted to Oil of Olay Moistturizer, much cheaper and lighter to apply |

I use Emu oil on my 38 yr old skin. Whilst it's an oil, it actually sinks in just like a good moisturiser ( it doesn't sit on top looking greasy.) I use it in the morning after applying vit c, followed my broad spectrum sunscreen and make-up and then in the evening an hour after retin a. Emu oil is absolutely fantastic for combating dry, dehydrated skin. Hope this helps |

As recommended by the other EDS members, I started to use emu oil for 2 weeks. Every morning and night I apply it on my whole face after applying day/night cream. I really find my face much less dry and most importantly, no breakout. I've tried numerous skincare in a hope to make my face less dry but in vain, and emu oil is the best among all. |

Mine is an Australia brand. There is limited choice available in my region and hence I dare not say mine is better than the other. Maybe you can do some comparison in Amazon, or you may reference to those brands recommended by other members in the "face oil" thread. |

Use Aloe Vera gel for moisturizing your skin. It is best gel for cooling, smoothing and glowing the skin. Along with this you can use Melalite Cream for bleaching, glowing nod bighting your skin. Buy apply Melalite Cream at a day and Aloe Vera at night. |

I'd recommend adding Marula oil to your existing moisturizer. I read an article on Yahoo a couple of days ago. Here's part of the article: "Marula Oil contains roughly 60 percent more antioxidants than other beauty oils like argan oil or grapeseed oil, in addition to higher levels of fatty acids like Omega 6 and 9 - which set this oil apart from others on the market." The fatty acids in marula are really hydrating and nourishing says (Dr.) Kim, "while the antioxidants like Vitamins C and E protect your skin from sun exposure and pollution, and can even help reverse the damage that's already there." These benefits make marula a good anti-ager and its ultra-moisturizing properties make it a great addition to your winter beauty regimen." Here's the article: https://www.yahoo.com/beauty/should-you-try-marula-oil-107615393653.html
I bought Acure Marula oil for about $16. It's sold at Whole Foods, Roots and online at Vitacost & iherb. |

I would recommend Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream. It keeps your skin moisturized for 24 hours! It works even better if you combine a few drops of essential oil. I have extremely dry skin but this does an excellent job in surviving winter in Toronto. |
